No iCloud on Snow Leopard? THIS IS A JOKE, APPLE!

Right now I'm thinking about leaving Apple products behind for good. So I can't use iCloud on Snow Leopard (which is not that old)? Meaning my syncing (contacts, bookmarks, calendars etc.) will just stop when they shut down MobileMe in 2012?

GREAT WAY TO DEAL WITH YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS, APPLE!

I can't update to Lion (various reasons). So now what? Dump the crap Macbook+iMac+iPhone in the toilet? Should be a great idea!

VERY PROFESSIONAL, CONGRATULATIONS!

Yes Steve, that was my initial plan... right up until I was told that I would not be able to EVER change my iTunes account login and would have to manage TWO iTunes accounts.

I'm confused I did not have MM and I do not have iCloud as I have a First gen MBP but I do have iTunes and have had two e-mail accounts with it. (I have changed e-mail address that relats to my iTunes account). After I have posted this message I'll check how I chaned my iTunes account.

One thing I do rember is the first year I had my iTunes I lost some music and e-mail iTunes store explaining how I lost the files and the next time I loginto iTunes it re-downloded the lost music. I got an e-mail from iTunes saying that as this was a understanable first mistact thay reset the "downloaded flag" so I could re-download the music.

Perhaps you could do the same sort of thing with the programs once you have changed the iTunes account details if you lose them.

Just checked my iTunes account;

Open iTunes click on "iTunes Store"

On the quick links click on "Account" it may ask for your password.

where it says Apple ID click edit where it says e-mail change your e-mail address

iTunes will then ask to confarm your billing once that's all done iTunes will send a confarm e-mail to the new address.

Do what it says in the e-mail and all's good.

It worked for me.

Oh, and don't listen to the stuff about Apple not reading this.

Cracks me up everythime I read that clause of no one reads this.

Sell multi billions of product-support an in-house forum-but don't look in there.

Copies the same NewWorldOrder of current admin-another vote for chg-no adults allowed.

Absolute riot.

The hard part- some of us just don't get it-we pay for a service-yet we have to fix it somehow.

All the motions to go through- simply can't be done by some-I think they know that-vs a dvd that just does it.

The tips by some- enjoy to abbreviate stuff so you have no clue- no real time motion of the steps.

Good Luck

I am glad it worked for you, Steve, but did you have a mac.com or me.com email address attached to your iTunes account before you made that change? For those who do, that Apple ID box in iTunes is in gray letters that cannot be changed. If there IS a workaround, I will gladly follow those steps to change mine, too. My association with Mac.com now feels like having a Vote for Nixon bumper sticker.

Did I have mac.com or me.com? NO looks like this is a real problem for mac.com or me.com (MM) customers. also I would do 3 things.

1) Look round the iTunes support site to see if there is a way of sending a message ti iTunes store staff. I would then send a e-mail/letter explaing "I have a iTunes account linked to a MobileMe account and as MobileMe has/is ending is there any way I can change my account e-mail address to my ??????@gmail.com or ??????@yahoo.com or ????@????.???. also include this "I need to do this as MobilMe has stoped and I can/not, my hardware dose not support "Lion" and so can not migrate to iCloud. Thank you for your help........"

2) Set up a time to goto the genaus bar in an Apple Store and explain to them the problem and get them to set it up for you with a new e-mail address and get them to makeshoure you still the app's you once had with out paying for them a secound time.

3) If when/now MM has stoped and you can no longer use the emaile addres to access iTunes report that Apple have stoped you from using a service becouse of there ristritave practest of (not alowing you to change e-mail info like others who are note members of MobileMaible) to you local trades discription office (if you in the UK, in the US and other countrys this may be difent.

I hope all of this helps

Topsteve!

1) Of course its only available on Lion. They want you to upgrade. Its called business!

2) Change Apple ID? Restrictive practices? You talk bollocks! 30 seconds of using half a brain cell and searching goolge would of giving you the answer! Go to appleid.apple.com, login and change your email address.

3) Apple sent emails to all MM customers offering the chance to keep their MM email addresses should they not meet requirements.

I personally have no qualms with Apple. The way they did it was fair and gave people plenty of time to either upgrade or find alternate soloitions.

TS, I accept that your spelling may be affected by dyslexia and mean no criticism but there is a spellchecker in this forum, maybe, as a courtesy you might consider using it for us poor readers.
