Pages and Numbers Not Syncing in iCloud

Bookmarks, Contacts and Calendars are all syncing with icloud. Works beautifully, however when I change a Pages or Numbers document on my MacBook Pro, it doesn't sync with my ipad. itunes 10.5, ios 5, Lion 7.2 in use. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Rob

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1), 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7, 8 GB Ram

With respect. A lot of the people in this post must be old Mac users, spoilt by years of excellence or something. I moved to Mac about a year ago, and bought an iPad and an iPhone and am blown away by the products. Are you really all whining about creating a folder to organise your iCloud docs yourself then dragging onto a browser to update across your devices?? Really?? Yes its a bit annoying that it doesnt work like Dropbox but think of the years you are adding to your lives with the extra exercise you get dragging the file to the browser to sync... I get your frustration if you have become used to a higher level of product, but keep it real guys...

I have your exact same problem but that solution didn't work. 😟

iPad Settings

Settings -> iCloud Documents & Data = ON

Settings -> Keynote -> Use iCloud = ON

Settings -> Pages -> Use iCloud = ON

Settings -> Numbers -> Use iCloud = ON

There are a few weird things that happen though...

in Pages it says "Updating 3 Documents..." and the progress wheel keeps on spinning (Going on 45 mins now)

in Numbers nothing happens... it just has 4 documents with an arrow on the top right corner

in Keynote nothing happens... it just has 1 document arrow on the top right corner, too.

If I create the Document directly in the iPad that's when I get the document in the screen shot above.

Does ANYONE know why my iPad is not syncing with the iCloud????

Thank You so much 'deschnl' it worked for me, until I read your reply I was continually checking that it was all 'on' on iCloud, not thinking to check the actual app. I have only just had my Macbook Pro for a couple of months and I am trying to learn heaps before changing my desktop to a Mac. Forums like these are a lifesave, so thanks to all that post to help others

I can only say that since upgrading to Mountain Lion the problem is sovled. Apart froma few glitches when I'm told that certain fonts are not recognised I have no problem with syncing of documents in Pages. I don't use any other i-work programs so can't speak for those. I am annoyed that I can't now open pictures directly from Preview but I'm working on that, too.

This is exactly the problem I am now having - files I create on my iPad in Pages/Numbers/Keynote do not upload to the cloud and files that I upload to the cloud (on icloud.com) from my computer do not appear on my iPad. This is a fairly recent problem (in the last couple of days) and I can't for the life of me figure out what changed. I didn't update the apps in the last few days and I haven't changed any of the settings on the device.I've tried uninstalling one of the apps to see if it fixed the problem and it doesn't. It seems to be a problem with iCloud itself because I can transfer files to my device using iTunes - which now eliminates the ability to transfer files to my device from anywhere other than my own computer.

Be sure iCloud is on for each of those applications (not just on for the whole iPad), see the post above from Santarelli. You need to go to Setting and find each app; and then turn iCloud on for each app. This in addition to of course, having iCloud on for the whole iPad.

This doesn't help. On my MacBook Pro, in Numbers... if I click on "Share" I get a message ...

"...iWork.com has been discontinued."

It doesn't matter what is clicked on an iPad... I don't use one... I use a Laoptop and it doen't sync Documents.

Until Apple fixes the hole in the system...

For now... I'm using Google Drive.

Free....easy....syncs your documents... sharable.

C'mon apple.... catch up!!!

Oh, yea; iWork.com was discontinued. You need to activate iCloud on your Mac under Settings. My message was more for KJayCee2 who was having iPad issues, as I was, until I realized that there were iCloud settings also under each app on the iPad.

iCloud document sharing is non-existent to weak (emailing a doc is not "sharing" in 2012).

Sharing Docs with Google Drive has been difficult for me, it seems to require users to have a gmail account and not all do, especially enterprise folks. I am thinking box.net or dropbox.com would be better and more agnostic.

I do wish Apple would just allow sharing outside of their sandbox more readily. However, in terms of using iCloud to sync among ones own Apple devices, it has been fantastic and I expect it to become even better.

I have the same exact issue. I see the little arrow on my documents, then it says syncing and never finishes the upload, or just sits there llike nothing is happening, even though i have a 50MB/10MB connection.

icloud syncing has only worked once since last year. I delete the account, delete all iwork apps, i even set my phone as a new iphone. then slowly turned icloud then turned it on for each app and then i saw the documents syncing BUT it only worked for a day or so. I Did not do anything to cause it to stop..it just stopped. which is weird since i saw them working and syncing between my ipad, iphone and macbook air.

At this point I have tried every possible conbination of "fixes" and still nothing and has been a year since it came out. I called apple support, and they said they would call me in a few days as they wait for their engineers to tkae a look at my account.

Anyone has EVER gotten anything that works? anything from apple upper level techs?

Thanks
