Lost photos after iOS 5 update?

After updating to iOS 5, my photos were no longer in my camera roll, yet everything else was intact? Any solutions I had over 500 photos and tons of memories. 😢

this worked

1.) connect your iphone using the usb cable

2.) launch iphone explorer

3.) backup and then delete the following files:

/private/var/mobile/Media/PhotoData/.MISC/Info.plist

/private/var/mobile/Media/PhotoData/MISC/DCIM_APPLE.plist

/private/var/mobile/Media/PhotoData/Photos.sqlite

/private/var/mobile/Media/PhotoData/PhotosAux.sqlite

4.) reboot your iphone

now it imports to iphoto at full res again. it was only importing low res pics after os5 update

Appreciate the advice.

I have been synching my iPad and iPhone to my PowerMac G4 upgraded to OS10.5. iExplorer will not run on the G4 as it requires an Intel machine. It does run on my wife's Macbook and when I connect the iPhone it sees the DCIM file containing the photos. I have downloaded these photos to the desktop of the Macbook and also have imported them to the G4.

Now, if I follow your directions and try to reboot the iPhone while connected to the Macbook, will this work, since I have never synced with the Macbook before?

Can I sync the iPhone to 2 different Mac's?

Is there any other way to transfer the photos back from the G4 to the iPhone? Is there a version of iExplorer that runs on a non-Intel based machine?

http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com ......I thought I lost EVERYTHING......I tried EVERYTHING.......I found this software, and it worked. I am soooo relieved. As long as you have a backup somewhere, it seems to work. iTunes wasn't able to recover from my backups for some reason, but this software extracted everything right out for me. $25 for the registered version, but so worth every penny.
