In "Find My Friends", select "Me", select "Account", make sure the ticked "Send Notifications As" email address is one that is verified on your AppleID account.

Yes, you have to verify all your email addresses and completely reinstall the app. What ********, but it works.

Thanks Jdenn 269 this is the fix i have been looking for. if you have had a mobile me account prior to your Icloud account this might be the fix!!
