It says my Apple ID is correct but my phone is not eligible for find my friends?
iPhone 4
FIX:
1.Open the My Friends App
2.Go to the Me Tab
3.At the top upper right corner you will see Account Tab
4.Under the Notifications Send As: Ensure that this email corresponds to the verified email addresses under MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT at https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
This will fix your problem! At least it fixed with my phone!
Good luck!
I got exactly the same problem.
I've managed to send a friend request from an iPhone. But on that other iPhone, I can see that request but it won't allow me to accept it. It just says that mine Apple ID is not good for using this app?!
Same here. I'm able to send an invite from my iPhone but when I try to accept it on my wife's iPhone, it says the Apple ID can't work with the app. My wife's Apple ID used to be a secondary email address on my MobileMe account but is now on its own in iCloud. Could it be the issue?
I have the same problem. On a user@mac.com account (which I can manage from apple.id.com), I cannot accept a "Find My Friends" invitation on the iPhone Find My Friends app. I'm singed in from the app using the user@mac.com account, but when I try to accept the inviation, I get "Cannot Connect to Find My Friends - verify your Apple ID at http:appleid.apple.com - which I have done.
I think the app has some bugs..
I am to sign in but once I am in the app it says check your email to verify.... And I never receive an email!!! Have tried probably 20 times :/. Even used a different apple ID and then it says username/password is incorrect even tho I just checked it on iTunes and it works fine, redid it letter and number one at a time and wrote it down on paper to make sure it was correct but still saying wrong password! Ugh !
I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, but I was running into an error because under the notifications section on the account page, my "send as" was a different apple ID from my "signed in as". Once the two were reconciled, I was able to send and receive requests without error.
Anyone else having this issue? i have typed in my apple id and password into this app CORRECTLY numerous times.....it repeatedly tells me that my appleid or password is incorrect.....i am not typing it in wrong? any suggestions? thanks
The same problem here. I converted from MobileMe to iCloud and it has been going very well until I was trying to use "Find My Friends" app. I can't accept invitations from my friends, it popped out saying that my Apple ID (me.com) needs to be verify. After I logged in Appleid.apple.com with me.com ID, and pushed verify, but nothing happened. So I am stuck in there. At least, iCloud works well though.
I had the same problem
This is how I fixed it
I realised I did not have an email address as my primary ID address, logged in and updated then verified all my email addresses in my apple ID account settings.
I then deleted the find my friends app
I then reinstalled the app
Logged in and finally, after a whole day of frustration, the app is working correctly
For some reason the first time I looked at my verified email accounts in my apple ID my primary was blank, no idea why this was the case, as I had other emails listed below..... double check you have an active primary email addy, of course I made sure mine was my iCloud email addy
I had tried every other variation and only this one seems to have worked
Hello!
When I open the "Find Friends" app and try to send a request to someone, it says:
"Cannot Connect to Find My Friends
Verify your Apple ID at https://appleid.apple.com to use Find my Friends"
So, I click verify and nothing happens.
Thanks so much! I had tried everything and what you suggested worked perfectly. You saved me so much time because Apple's online chat support is so overwhelmed right now, and that was what I was going to try next. Thanks!!!!
You go to: https://appleid.apple.com/
Then select: Manage your Account
There should be something that says "Verify Primary Email Address." (Or, close to that.)
Once it is verified, there will be a green check mark next to it.
If it will not verify, then you probably have another Apple ID account that already verified a Primary Email Address for you. (That is what happened to me. The conflict didn't allow me to "Verify Primary Email Address" the way I wanted to.) So, you would need to go into the other Apple ID (same link as above – just type in the alternate ID/password info), then "Edit" to change that "Primary Email Address" to something else. Then, Apple will immediately email you to verify that edit. You'll have to accept the verification email. Then, you can go back into your original Apple ID (the one you want to use for "Find my Friends") and "Verify Primary Email Address."
I also deleted the app from my phone and reinstalled ... after doing everything above.
It worked right away after doing this.
Hope this helps.
I went over the Apple store. The Apple rep spent over 2 hours trying to solve my email issues. After awhile, he contacted higher up tech help and they notice my .mac email address was conflicted with .me account email address.
They said it would be 48 hours to be fixed.
I ran into this problem initially, and the solution was as described above. An unverified primary email account. So that was fixed, and I added several friends w/o problem.
Then today, went to add a new friend, and saw the same error again. Checked the appleid website, and sure enough, my primary email address (which had been previously verified) was gone. I re-verified, and still the same error.
I got it working again by deleting and reinstalling the app. Though now I'm wondering if I could have gone to accounts in the Find my Friends app, and signed out and back in again. Will give that a try next time.
So it seems there's possibly some issue with the appleid system. Thankfully, all the settings and previously added friends were remembered.
Good luck!
Even though my AppleID was an @mac.com address, I used @me.com instead and it worked, after two days of trying to verify my AppleID for Find My Friends. This doesn't match my iMessage address, but still worked.
