I have the same problem. On a user@mac.com account (which I can manage from apple.id.com), I cannot accept a "Find My Friends" invitation on the iPhone Find My Friends app. I'm singed in from the app using the user@mac.com account, but when I try to accept the inviation, I get "Cannot Connect to Find My Friends - verify your Apple ID at http:appleid.apple.com - which I have done.

I think the app has some bugs..

I am to sign in but once I am in the app it says check your email to verify.... And I never receive an email!!! Have tried probably 20 times :/. Even used a different apple ID and then it says username/password is incorrect even tho I just checked it on iTunes and it works fine, redid it letter and number one at a time and wrote it down on paper to make sure it was correct but still saying wrong password! Ugh !

The same problem here. I converted from MobileMe to iCloud and it has been going very well until I was trying to use "Find My Friends" app. I can't accept invitations from my friends, it popped out saying that my Apple ID (me.com) needs to be verify. After I logged in Appleid.apple.com with me.com ID, and pushed verify, but nothing happened. So I am stuck in there. At least, iCloud works well though.

I had the same problem

This is how I fixed it

I realised I did not have an email address as my primary ID address, logged in and updated then verified all my email addresses in my apple ID account settings.

I then deleted the find my friends app

I then reinstalled the app

Logged in and finally, after a whole day of frustration, the app is working correctly

For some reason the first time I looked at my verified email accounts in my apple ID my primary was blank, no idea why this was the case, as I had other emails listed below..... double check you have an active primary email addy, of course I made sure mine was my iCloud email addy

I had tried every other variation and only this one seems to have worked

You go to: https://appleid.apple.com/

Then select: Manage your Account

There should be something that says "Verify Primary Email Address." (Or, close to that.)

Once it is verified, there will be a green check mark next to it.

If it will not verify, then you probably have another Apple ID account that already verified a Primary Email Address for you. (That is what happened to me. The conflict didn't allow me to "Verify Primary Email Address" the way I wanted to.) So, you would need to go into the other Apple ID (same link as above – just type in the alternate ID/password info), then "Edit" to change that "Primary Email Address" to something else. Then, Apple will immediately email you to verify that edit. You'll have to accept the verification email. Then, you can go back into your original Apple ID (the one you want to use for "Find my Friends") and "Verify Primary Email Address."

I also deleted the app from my phone and reinstalled ... after doing everything above.

It worked right away after doing this.

Hope this helps.

I ran into this problem initially, and the solution was as described above. An unverified primary email account. So that was fixed, and I added several friends w/o problem.

Then today, went to add a new friend, and saw the same error again. Checked the appleid website, and sure enough, my primary email address (which had been previously verified) was gone. I re-verified, and still the same error.

I got it working again by deleting and reinstalling the app. Though now I'm wondering if I could have gone to accounts in the Find my Friends app, and signed out and back in again. Will give that a try next time.

So it seems there's possibly some issue with the appleid system. Thankfully, all the settings and previously added friends were remembered.

Good luck!
