lock screen notifications not working

I have this problem as well...haven't been able to find anything.

I have it working perfectly on my 3GS, but can't get it to work on my iPad 2.

Hi friends, i am facing the same problem on Iphone 4 White 16Gb, does any of you guys know whether Apple is aware of the problem and if there will be a correction to that?

This took some figuring out and some web research but the lock screen notifs only show notifs that actually come in since the phone was last locked. Try it - go into Mail (assuming it's enabled), get it fetching new mail, quickly press the sleep/wake button. If you have new mail, that's what will pop up. Not quite what I thought it was going to be!

Edited to clarify - there's no "pull-down" gesture for the lock screen - the notifs just appear if there are any.

Alot of the 3rd party apps don't seem to work in Notif Centre - maybe because they have to be updated to iso5 compatibility?

How could Apple, after all this time, with all their high paid developers, get this so completely and utterly wrong.

Apple are massacred by a few smart developers, some working in their spare time, who can produce brilliant lock-screen apps for the Cydia Store which get it so right.

I found something else out (courtesy of another user). If you "grab onto" the app symbol on the left of the notif banner and swipe it will unlock the screen and take you to that app.

You're absolutly right! And the solution would be so simple. Just one more option to choose the "active lockscreen" and offer at least the NC on lockscreen.

Who needs widgets in the NC - it's about the Lockscreen! And stock ticker and weather may be fine, but it is intangbile why there isn't a calandar widget, and why no third-party-widgets are allowed.

ios5 had the potential to be something special, now its a big disappointment. I cant understand apples policy, I just can't....

Apple missed a huge one here. I want to be able to go to my lock screen and VERY simply find out what time my next appointment is. Still I have to unlock, go to cal, check....The lock screen is valuable real-estate and currently is serves no useful purpose apart from displaying stupid photos.

I think i figured it out.

You need to turn everything on, not just the notifications.

Go into SETTINGS, then NOTIFICATIONS.

Select each item you want to include, one at a time, going into each one's options.

If Alert Style is set to "None", this seems to be the default, change it to "Banners"

Then scroll down to the bottom and make sure that "View in Lock Screen" is ON.

I turned them all ON.

Hmmm. I don't think it fixed what we are talking about here.

Now lock your phone. Then press the power button to get to the lock screen. Is everything there? IE: Can you see today's calendar events?
