iCloud MobileMe IMAP rejected password

Greetings,


After moving my MobileMe account to iCloud, I am now getting an error message in mail that states:


The MobileMe IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “xxxxxxx”


It keeps popping up a window asking me to enter my me.com password, but won't accept my password.


I googled this error and see a bunch of threads here and other places about problems with IMAP passwords and this same error message back in 2008/2009. But I've never seen this error before, and since it happed just after the transition to iCloud, I suspect it is realted.


Any suggestions?

Still not working trying to add @me.com to my Mail account (Leopard). I went to the KB article, and I notice that it doesn't even want to save those settings. even if it type in imap.mail.me.com when I go back to the accounts page after it was saved it it back to mail.me.com ... still not recognizing PW or anything.


As an owner of multiple Apple devices its great that they are offering this out without paying $99/yr anymore, but I hope it gets sorted out soon as I'm not going to type out emails of any length on my phone and the online browser iCloud interface is a bit clunky.

Yes, I am shouting. Apple are saying nothing about this problem. Is it their servers ? We are, as users, trying to help each other making here and there. This helps some but not others. On my iMac have deleted and added my account to see if I had made some mistakes.


A few minutes ago, I went back to the iMac and sending is working again. For how long ?

Out Going mail iCloud

Most of last evening Thursday 13.10.2011 In that latter box was saying offline.


I must say that I was a PC user up to 7 years ago. This is the first I have had problems. it is annoying.

I wonder if my problem is the same. I updated my imac to the 10.7.2 last night and installed icloud on my iphone and then tried setting it up on my mac and it won't let me log in. It asks for my Apple ID and Password and when I enter it it says "Unrecognizeable id or password" and I get a popup that says "you can't sign in at this time try signing in again". I know I have the correct ID and password. This is ridiculous!

I had to delete my GMail account and the iCloud association with the phone and all other accounts for it to show up on my iPhone 4. Then it worked.

Ok... Now my status is:


Migrated MobileMe account to iCloud, loosing only all contacts (restored from iPhone though)

All iCloud services working just fine in my iDevices (iPad, iPhone and MacBook), all updated to latest iOS and

OSX.


IMAP authentication using Outlook or Postbox (Thunderbird) to imap.mail.me.com NOT WORKING. I am using old MobileMe settings, gives 3 or 4 consecutive auth. errors but works fine after that.


Any news???


Does anyone on Apple reads this fórum anyway???

Hey this happen to me too.


You have to go on your iphone or Ipad or what ever device you are going to being using and install IOS 5 first, then set up icloud on that device and then your device will ask for you to log in. Once your log in is completed you can then log in on your home computer.


The key is to log in on your device first so the account can authenticate.
