The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user XXXX

I have the exact same problem. I set iCloud up yesterday and all worked fine. Today, I have the same problem you described.

I suppose we should be glad the 13th didn't fall on a Friday. I'm just waiting until they fix this. No sense screwing up your e-mail settings until you are forced to.

Hmmm, that system status says that all services have been restored and working. However...

I continue to have the same login problems that everyone else is. It's not taking my password, or if it does, it's not holding onto it. And I can't log into iCloud mail through web browser either.

- I moved my mobile me account to iCloud 15 hours ago.

4 Hours ago:

- I started to have error in topic headline in my Mac Air (Lion - OS 10.7.2)

- My iPhone and iPad cannot get mail (Err: the username or password for iCloud is incorrect)

- No problem with iCal, Adressbook or Bookmarks

- CAN login to iCloud, mail web app (only) doesn't work.

Now:

- Problem continues in MAC Air (mail.app 5.0).

- My iPhone CAN get mail - as of last hour working solid.

- My iPad CAN get mail - works on and off (works for 10 mins, then gives the err: the username or password for iCloud is incorrect)

- No problem with iCal, Adressbook or Bookmarks

- CAN login to iCloud, mail web app (only) doesn't work.

SOLUTION:

- There is an improvement. I believe APPLE will resolve this issue till the EOD. I would personally recommend not to use any workarounds - creating aliases, verifying alternate e-mails, etc. - these will hount you later 🙂 I'll wait and see for today.

I'll update if I get anything else working 🙂

Hey guys, I was having the same problem you all are, until right this minute it just simply started to work again, so I guess people at Apple are looking into it and your problem will eventually get solved as mine was.

Hope this helps, I know it is really annoying not being able to acces your email but just hang in there a little.

iOS and Mac mail now appears to be working again for me as well.

Came back on for me as well. It worked a bit this morning, but then came back offline. Now I wil try an iOS backup.

Yup, mine just started working again -- getting mail everywhere, it seems -- Mail on lapop, phone, iPad an iCloud all seem to be up for now.

Ditto, thumbs up to the Apple support ninjas. Somebody obviously underestimated how popular this service would be and that's not their fault.

All services back on line !, hope it will stay like this

Mine just got back up on my mac and iphone.

As of 2pm EST my email is back on line on all devices 🙂. I live in Michigan.
