The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user XXXX

p99-imap.mail.me.com is not editable in my Mail.com configuration. Is this just a temporary glitch?

It is now March 2012! I have JUST run into this problem. How come Apple has not got it sorted? Can you tell me does it correct itself, or must I DO something? I cannot reset the server as the box is greyed out. I was quite happy with my old Mac account; persuaded to join iCloud I seem now to have problems not encountered before. I just upgraded to iPhone too!............Infuriating!

Login to your account on the web at www.icloud.com and change your password to one that is compliant.

What is a 'compliant password'? When I moved to iCloud I was told to use my Apple ID. It is the same one I used for .Mac when that came out, the same as I use for iTunes, the App Store, these Discussion boards and now iCloud.

My password doesn't have capitals or a number so what is going on here and how come there has been no mention of 'compliant' passwords prior to this?

Thanks,

Rich 🙂

Your password MUST have at least 1 number and 1 uppercase letter, and it MUST have a minimum of 8 characters. There has been plenty of mention about the passowrd issue for a while now (I have been reminding people for months, and I am not alone) you just didn't notice it beofore your password failed.

That's my point. Mine hasn't failed. It's a 7 letter word all lower case. No numbers, no capitals and neither have I ever been asked to provide otherwise. 🙂

If my eyes aren't fooling me, there are more than a few people including yourself talking about how the password must have at least 1 number,1 uppercase and contain 8 characters. My old mobilme password wasn't 8 characters, so i changed it to meet the criteria. And Asuperstarr was saying that they deleted their account in mail preferences and started a new one and it worked... So, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I'll post on this because this is the issue that I'm having... The same as everyone else on this thread...
