The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user XXXX
p99-imap.mail.me.com is not editable in my Mail.com configuration. Is this just a temporary glitch?

Post deleted - must have been a momentary glitch. All working again.

Hey,
I deleted the account in mail preferences and re added the account and appears to be working fine. You may want to give that a try.
had to reset the password on one account to get it to work
my account receives mail now does not send with same password
this is a server issue
my accounts have had the same password and worked for a month
yesterday one account quit
reset it works
today send mail does not work
apple has a problem
It is now March 2012! I have JUST run into this problem. How come Apple has not got it sorted? Can you tell me does it correct itself, or must I DO something? I cannot reset the server as the box is greyed out. I was quite happy with my old Mac account; persuaded to join iCloud I seem now to have problems not encountered before. I just upgraded to iPhone too!............Infuriating!
Had the same issue with my iphone, imac and ipad. Changed my iCloud password to the new format of a minimum of 8 characters with the following rules at least 1 capital letter and 1 number. Alll devices are now getting email with no issues. Hope this helps.

Login to your account on the web at www.icloud.com and change your password to one that is compliant.

What is a 'compliant password'? When I moved to iCloud I was told to use my Apple ID. It is the same one I used for .Mac when that came out, the same as I use for iTunes, the App Store, these Discussion boards and now iCloud.
My password doesn't have capitals or a number so what is going on here and how come there has been no mention of 'compliant' passwords prior to this?
Thanks,
Rich 🙂
Your password MUST have at least 1 number and 1 uppercase letter, and it MUST have a minimum of 8 characters. There has been plenty of mention about the passowrd issue for a while now (I have been reminding people for months, and I am not alone) you just didn't notice it beofore your password failed.

That's my point. Mine hasn't failed. It's a 7 letter word all lower case. No numbers, no capitals and neither have I ever been asked to provide otherwise. 🙂
So it hasn't happened to you yet, but it will, just as it has happened to many of the people still using their old credentials. What you do is up to you but at least you will know what is going on when your credentials stop working.
I changed my password to meet the credentials and I'm still not getting email to my desktop mac. I get email on iphone, ipad and laptop... I tried to delete my email and add my email (with new password), but now it's not letting me create a new one because my password is wrong. It's definitely not wrong... HELP???
I did not suggest that you change your password, you have a different problem and should start your own thread rather than posting in one that seems similar.
If my eyes aren't fooling me, there are more than a few people including yourself talking about how the password must have at least 1 number,1 uppercase and contain 8 characters. My old mobilme password wasn't 8 characters, so i changed it to meet the criteria. And Asuperstarr was saying that they deleted their account in mail preferences and started a new one and it worked... So, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I'll post on this because this is the issue that I'm having... The same as everyone else on this thread...
