The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user XXXX

p99-imap.mail.me.com is not editable in my Mail.com configuration. Is this just a temporary glitch?

So this "issue" is open for what - about 2 weeks now?!

And Apple can't fix. I'm slowly getting "upset".

IT Incompetence level: 100%

I converted over from Me.com. Am I glad I do have a "real" working email address somewhere else? You bet.

Let's see how long it will take Apple to make this work.

Every day it doesn't their IT group is loosing more and credit.

AND where is the Apple Expert right here in this forum?

After the first few days that iCloud was up, I've only seen this message a few times and it usually goes away after a few minutes. If it doesn't, I change the incoming server to imap.mail.me.com and it works right away. When the message shows up a few days later I change it back to p99-imap.mail.me .com.

It looks to me that as Apple adjusts to the demand, the system is becoming more reliable.

This issue was so frustrating, then thought about how Apple would want you to do it, but from scratch, as a new customer. So even though I was transitioning, I just thought about their iCloud diagram, then did a sort of 'Push Reset' and it solved the problem. So after ensuring iCloud.com was tip-top:

1) Delete Account to Reset Mac 'the device'

2) Connect device back to iCloud

3) Solved

User uploaded file

Lets see if it stays the same hey!?

Everybody,

I experienced the same issue with Apple Mail after upgrading. Have you tried the following? This seemed to have worked for me after attempting some other solutions.

1. Launch Keychain Access (located in your Applications > Utilities folder)

2. Goto the menu: Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid...

3. Enter your user password and click "Repair"

4. Go back into Mail and renter your correct password one more time, being sure to check the box next to "Save Password in Keychain".

Let me know if this works for you or not.

Thanks for trying THarvey but this did not help either. The mail app refuses to work, can only access mail via Safari and get constant password errors from my iphone as well. What a pain.

Go to www.icloud.com, change your password, ensure that the new password is compliant with iCloud requirements, (minimum 8 characters, inc 1 capital letter and 1 number) enter the new password in your clients & log back in.

I was having the same issue with Mac Mail and just got it fixed.

Go into Applications>Utilities>Keychain Access. On the lefthand column, make sure you highlight "login" in the top box and "passwords" in the bottom box. Go through the list on the right and delete any password associated with your icloud/mobileme account.

I just spent 45 minutes on with Apple tech support, and this finally did the trick. I can now send/receive email on my Mac Mail.

Hope this helps!
