Can't edit Contacts any Help? (iPhone

i'm having the same issue. Any update on how to do it?? Cant delete or edit contacts??

Ditto. I also can not add any contacts!

I have the same issue. After updating iPhone 4 to IOS5 I can no longer edit or add contacts.

Nor can I :/ My calendar doesn't work either...I can't add anything

I just had that happen to me, but after massive amounts of googling, scanning other forums, and fiddling with my phone, I think I found the solution (!!)

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud/ or whatever email account you have (I used iCloud) > Turn on Contacts and Calendars (don't worry if it merges) > TADA. It should work (well, it worked for me anyways). Once you got it working, you can go back and de-toggle Contacts and Calendars.

Same problem here. iPhone 4S will not add or edit contacts. I transferred the data from my 3GS backup, if that makes any difference.

If u turn the contacts option on in settings, iCloud, it brings back the edit/add option :-)

You can the turn it off again with no ill effects.

YEs - same problem. I initialized phone by restoring back up from my old 3g iphone (so i could transfer contacts/calendar etc). Then i renamed my phone, backed up the new name and data. now I have restored to oringal settings, and then restored backup - no change. still can't add contacts. HELP???

This also happened to me,many searches in settings and Google,to no avail.

I then came to this site and posted a question,In the mean time I contacted my carrier 3 who spent at least an hour with me deleting iTunes on my computer and a factory reset on my iphone.( Scary Stuff ) .I did not lose any apps, music,photos nor message or call history.I didn't resolve this issue though untill I saw your effort and advice. Simply Genious,give yourself a pat on the back for helping me and countless others to enjoy their iPhones again.

PS, double tap in the lock screen brings up camera shortcut and iPod without unlocking phone.Also slide finger top to bot brings up appointments,messages calls,weather.Camera shutter now works in landscape mode via volume keys. Can You Tell I'm Excited.
