Aperture 3.2 upgrade (from 3.1.3) crash continuously

Upgraded today from Aperture 3.1.3 to 3.2 and running a small test on a library of 10 Canon CR2 Raw images, but having Aperture 3.2 crash from the start.

I have repaired permissions, repaired database, rebuild database, created a new library etc. and nothing seems to help!

Yes, even tried a blank brand new library created in Aperture 3.2 - no luck. Can not do anything - sometimes I might even get to open an image full screen before it crash...?

As per usual I do not get a response from Apple so will try getting rid of Nik Software plugins and BorderFX, but this is going rapidly in the same direction as Adobe software experience for me.

Regards

"Again not a happy customer after an upgrade...???"

BTW: Running on iMac with OS 10.6.8 and all the latest patches installed

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), iMac Core Duo 2006

A bit off topic, but let's see what we can do.

1) 5000 images is not your issue.

2) It may be your connection to your external drive. Try right-clicking the project you are working on and exporting the project as a new library to your internal drive. Disconnect you external and see if your new internal library has good performance.

3) Aperture loves lots of RAM, install what you can and don't launch any other apps when using Aperture

4) Aperture loves a fast video card. If your MBP is one of the ones that can switch from form on-chip to a discreet video card, make sure you are on the faster one.

5) Aperture LOVES SSD's If you get the chance, run your computer on a Solid State Hard-drive.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Brian

I opened a new project in a library on my macbook pro with only a few images, aperture was still very slow... I have to G's of memory other then that I'm not sure as I am not computer smart, I only use software as needed or as I'm told I need..

Aperture has been losing me since I upgraded from the original, I used to be able to toggle on and off the automatic raw adjustments for my camera now I can not and aperture is putting noise in my shadows reds it seems when shooting at low iso 100 I shoot with a Canon 5D.. I had my camera in for cleaning a year ago so maybe it's having problems of it's own with firmware updates.... <Edited by Host>Thanks for your time

look forward to you message if you take the time.. Thanks again
