ios5 caldav, and gmail calendar not showing

Thanks for pointing it out to me. I haven't yet had the time to post but I had also found the new DSM upgrade yesterday morning. And my CALDAV shows in my iPad 2 Calendar. But there are still some calendar items that don't show. Have to sort that out later on.

has anybody here already filed this as a bug with apple?

We use CalDav to connect to a mailenable enterprise server and the calendar functionality is now broken having upgraded to ios5. I have found that the URL field in the setup keeps reverting to its own entry. Every time I change it to the correct URL, it puts in its own data. This needs to be fixed.

I found out that when I alter the calendar server URL in iOS4 like it is in iOS5 it does work in iOS4. So the problem must be somewhere else in iOS5. Maybe it's got to do with security settings?.

I've got the same issue.

Haven't tried it out before iOS5, but when I tried to add a CalDev calendar, it would not show up in my Calendar App.I tried disabling the iCloud Calendar, but this did not solve the problem.

We use an own CalDav (Linux) server for calendars and tasks and provide this service to our customers as well. The solution works perfect with Sunbird, Thunderbird and Postbox lightning plugin and all on the iOS device with the 4.x version. But after update some device to iOS 5 the CalDav connections and accounts stop working. This is sad !

I just realize when I setup the "Account URL" to our server, the iOS just extend it with the account login name like this:

original format

http://caldav.host.com/caldav.php/accountname/home

and after the update the wrong one

http://accountname@caldav.host.com/caldav.php/accountname/home

The problem is I cant change it back to the original way. Somebody know about this problem will be solved in the next update ?

Our business runs an Apple Server (10.5.8 Server) for calendars and file sharing. iOS 5 killed our Caldav calendars as well - from an Apple product! This is a huge problem for us and if it isn't fixed quickly we will be migrating away from Apple servers and iOS devices.

Thanks shawn207. Worked to fix my iOS caldav issue. Although I didn't actually have to turn off the other cals and delete their data. I cancelled out at that point but did that for every other active calendar. All my calendars now show up. Thanks

Apple engineers solved my iOS, Sunbird (Windows client) CALDAV problems with the Synology CALDAV server. You shouldn't use special caracters in text entries like & < >. The xml can't cope with that. With a programm called textFinderX I replaced all '&' entries with 'en' and my CALDAV calendar started popping upo again on my iPhone, iPad and Windows client sunbird. I'm a happy guy again (regarding this issue 😉 ).

I passed the Apple findings on to Synology engineers so they can tackle it.

Same thing happened to me, but I was able to correct the mistake (not permanently, see below)

This is what worked:

In your iOS device, go to Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->the CALDAV account

(in my case, a google account, but replace details accordingly)

Server: www.google.com

User Name: XXXXX@XXXXXXX.com

Password: XXXXXXXX

Description: CALDAV calendar

Go to Advanced Settings, and under Account URL, you'll notice that it added the username in front of

the server address (Probably what happened to WGS1). In my case:

https://xxxx%40xxxxxx.com@www.google.com:443/calendar/dav/xxxx%40xxxxx.com/user/

The %40 is the replacement of the @ in URL encoding, so to solve this, eliminate everything between the https://

and the server address (in my case: xxxx%40xxxxxx.com@) You'll be left with:

https://www.google.com:443/calendar/dav/xxxx%40xxxxx.com/user/

After this, hit the back button, then done, and it verifies the connection, and then works just fine (for me, at least).

If you go back and check, it will display exactly the same URL as the one you changed (as if you had not done anything),

but it now works.

We'll see how stable it is, but at least I was able to update all calendar entries (3 computers, and 2 iOS devices).

Hope this helps someone out.

WGS1 -- I have too been racking my brain on iOS5 not syncing with local iCal on macbook to synology..All events created on Macbook stay on macbook. BUT all events created on iOS5 go to macbook and phone..

HOWEVER -- As you mentioned ..I tried changing the all events from 1 month back.. and presto..the events on macbook showed on phone..

BTW - running DSM 4.0
