Music App. In iOS 5 doesn't show Lyrics

Hello everybody. Yesterday I updated my iPad 2 with iOS 5. Now in the Music App the Lyrics don't appear anymore. I'm very disappointed and angry about that. Can anybody please tell me if it is a bug or if this was made intentionally. I hope tat this is a bug because the iOS 5 manual for the iPad (Ipad userguide for ios5 - downloaded from ibooks) shows on page 218 the following: "Display a song’s lyrics

Display the album cover by tapping the thumbnail at the top of the screen. Lyrics appear if you’ve added them to the song using the song’s Info window in iTunes." If it is a bug, when will it be fixed? If it is no bug, then I want to go back to its 4.3.5. Can anybody tell me how that would work?

Best Regards

TEMPORARY SOLUTION...

I have a temporary work around. Download SOUNDHOUND. It's a cool app and it's free. It will let you play music from your iPod / music app (ie your itunes library) and it SHOWS YOUR LYRICS TOO. I'm thinking about paying for the add free version as a way of saying thanks. Try it, you should see you album artwork and with an upward swipe your lyrics will scroll up the screen, overlayed ontop of the album cover. The app also has other cool features like being able to recognize any piece or music you like to play (or sing) to it - it will give you the song title and album name etc. Good luck - let me know how you get on.!

PS - I'm pretty sure this is just a bug, but have submitted my feedback to apple asking them to give our lyrics back. Hopefully we will se something in the next update.

Tried Soundhound and could not get lyrics to display on iPad. It will display the synced lyrics that Soundhound provides but will not display lyrics that you have added to your songs or backing tracks via iTunes. I found another app that will work for gigging musicians like myself. Try the app UnrealBook. You can load in your PDF sheet music or lyrics, etc. and link those to whatever music files you're using. You can also network several iPads together in master/slave configuration for live on stage performance. It requires some time to load everything in but it does work.

What do we learn from this (so far):

First: The newest Hardware is supported first and all the other very old Hardware like the ipad2 (!) comes last.

Second: Opening a post in an Apple Support Forum with the report of errors or bugs in ios5 seems to be almost irrelevant. Not a single Apple Support Employee has answered to this post. And more than 4.500 People have read this post so far.

Third: The thing that lasts is the (small) hope that one day Apple will listen to the customers, who have run out of the 6 Months Support time.

I am afraid it is not a bug but a "feature".

As fas as I can tell, the Music app was upgraded in 5.0.1.

After the upgrade, mine was frozen and unusable for about 20 minutes.

My guess: it was upgrading the library (but did not tell me).

But now it seems to be much more responsive.

I still don't like it, but at least it is usable now.

But if they did indeed upgrade it, why not fix the lyrics "bug"?

Or was the previous version so horrible that it required all their attention?

I am still hoping, but not optimistic. Please send lots of feedback to Apple!
