Music App. In iOS 5 doesn't show Lyrics

You can use BT headphones for all iPad audio.

Did they give you an ETA on the update? I just got my Ipad a couple of days ago and was relly starting to enjoy some of the features and then I felt like I was using a PC.

I'm with you on this one. Been working on the fix for days to find out it's the new OS. Let me know if there is a way to go back.

This was exactly what I found. There is an enable podcast and lyrics button on my Ipod Touch but not on the Ipad 2 after the OS update.

Via AppleCare I just talked to an iPad tech person about this. He wasn't familiar with the problem; he has never used the lyrics function and obviously hadn't gotten any calls about it before. He did some checking and came back with the report that this is an issue that is unresolved, which means that Apple doesn't know what it's going to do about it - if anything. Not much help..

I have also read that iTunes Match loses some lyrics; people are reporting about 20% missing in random order - some albums have lyrics for most songs but not all, and so forth, even though they were all on iTunes originally. So I don't think that iTunes Match is a solution. I've been looking for a third party app which will make use of the embedded lyrics, but all of the ones I've seen, like SoundHound, take lyrics off the web. Not much point doing that if you have already spent time inputting them with the old system.

I just spoke with another iPad technician. She too had not heard of the problem before, but when I suggested that she do a google search for "iPad no lyrics" she found the discussions. She told me that she would notify the engineering department about this and ask that they contact me regarding whether this was a bug which would be fixed or whether it was something that had been deliberate and would remain unchanged. She advised me to call back in a couple of days if I hadn't heard anything. We shall see. I was encouraged that she was at least forwarding it to the department that could resolve this question.

By the way, Soundhound doesn't replace iTunes lyrics. It just downloads words from the web as the song is playing, but as far as I could tell it doesn't store them so they're available when the iPad is offline. Besides, after spending hours and hours pasting lyrics into iTunes, it seems like a horrible waste of time to download them all over again; also, some of my songs don't have lyrics readily available on the web anyway.

I would love to find an app that displays the lyrics that I have already embedded, especially if this doesn't get fixed by Apple.

Sounds like you at least have the opportunity to dog them about it. Keep at it and let us know.

I'll call them in a few days to see what they've come up with, but the first tech support person I spoke to told me it was a known problem with no resolution yet, in terms of whether they even planned to address it or not. So the next tech person may tell me the same thing and we'll be no further along. However, I'll try.

That was a novice tech. We need to escalate to the top engineers about this poor step. I cannot accept this update (upgrade) to ios5. This was a stupid improvement. The only reason I updated my iPad, because the lyrics shown on iPhone was too small. Now, I realized that I was screwed by this new ios5. I want my lyrics features back. Apple better finds a solution or resolve this situation before Apple degrades Jobs' reputation and upsets other users.

I'm not sure what this means but I just tried the suggestion from Solange82200 for Oct. 20, 2011, 6:08pm, turning off Lyrics & Podcasts (instead of LED, etc.). When done, I looked for my lyrics that I had downloaded most recently and couldn't find them. I did, however, have lyrics that I copy/pasted 6 or so months ago (by copy/pasting them from lyric sites into WordPerfect, then copy/pasted into iTunes). The lyrics I added recently (by copy/pasting from lyric sites into Notes on my iPhone, then copy/pasting them in iTunes from Notes) don't show up. Any thoughts?
