Why does my Me mail account keep asking for password?

Since converting to iCloud my Me mail account has been asking me for my password. When I enter it, it comes back with 2 seconds with the same request. My password has not changed. It's the same as it was in MobileMe. This issue is preventing me from using this mail account. Anyone know a solution?

I'm also having this issue. I had to remove the @me.com settings from Outlook because it made the program unusable. In addition, Outlook keeps crashing and I'm getting the error Apple Push has stopped working. Finally, although my contacts seem to have connected to iCloud, my calendar is not. SO DELIGHTED I decided to use iCloud. (Not.)

Guess what, I'm not on iCloud, but my Apple Mail program is doing the same thing. My mail comes from a university server, not iCloud. I never had a problem until updating my system software to 10.6.8. Now the mail program constantly asks me for the password - over and over, every time I try to send or receive. Likewise the WiFi connection keeps asking for password to connect to my Apple Time Machine wireless router.

Please, if anyone has an answer, please post it. Does Apple read these forums???? What's the problem here?? Can we get an answer?????

Hi, struggling to understand how your issues a pertinent to the thread on this forum? The Thread is to discuss issues accessing email since migrating to iCloud, and ways to resolve these issues.

If you recieve email through your campus server and you do not connect to any of Apples email servers your Snow Leopard issues with regards to password authentication and wireless are un-related??

I suggest you speak to your Campus support staff, as your issues have nothing to do with connecting to Apple Email servers.

Update: I managed to get Calendar working by changing the imap address to imap.me.com and then making the me account default. Unfortunately, the mail still does not work as it says it is unable to connect to the server, but it does not ask me repeatedly for my password. Very weird as contacts and calendars are undating correctly.

Thanks. I had tried several times to correct this by delting the account and resetting it via the Mail Contacts and CAlendars button in System Preferences but ended up without an incoming mail server. Deleting previous efforts and then setting up my iCloud account again through the iCloud option in System Preferences seemed to work and give me an effective iCloud outbox and inbox. My thanks to LadyWhimsy do not extend to Apple who seem to insist on charging for help with new software for which one has paid in the last fortnight - when I moved to Lion expressly so that I had iCloud syncing with my iPad. Having recently moved from a RISCOS (original Acorn/ARM) machine to Apple I note the difference. With RISCOS products, like Unix, the developers are generous with their help and time - but then they do not end up with the sort of money that Apple make; only happy customers. Rant over - thanks again.
