Is there going to be a resolution for this issue.....my iPad crashes 5-10 times per day....not acceptable.
Try a system reset. It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
I too am having a huge problem with Safari and other apps crashing extremely frequently with iOS 5. Apple really needs to put some work into fixing this

Considering that the issue is not universal and is not a bug, don't you think that you should do some troubleshootiing on your own?
This is a bug/defect, there is quite a few discussions on the web in regards to this issue....
No.
Dear Mr. Philly_Phan:
In my humble opinion, this is a bug.
Prior to iOS 5 - My iPad was running better than that Rambler that you bought back in 1952. 😁. Seriously though, my iPad was running like a dream. Safari started crashing on me the minute I started using it after updating to iOS 5 ... and I mean the very first time that I launched it post iOS 5 update. The update to iOS 5.0.1 was useless as well. I restored - twice - ditched apps, other content, turned off bookmark syncing, turned on bookmark syncing, I fiddled and fussed - tried everything recommended by other users and I did everything but stick pins in an Apple doll and chant voodoo incantations and it still crashes on me.
I realize that you hadn't been hanging around much right after the update but users were screaming about needing a fix and I still don't think it is right - I know it's not right on my iPad. These discussions have been going on for weeks.
This thread appears on the site virtually every day. There are a few other lengthy discussions that have taken place since the update as well.

My point in all of this is - I truly beleive that it is a bug and it really does need to be fixed.
Sincerely,
Your "across the Keystone state" iPad Forum Buddy,
Demo
The more reports Apple gets, the more likely they are to address the issue.
Nothing, not even reset to factory condition has any long-lasting effect.
I do not doubt that there are problems, perhaps many problems, but I disagree totally with the reference to a "bug." Mine has been absolutely flawless and I am by no means the only person that can say that. That is certainly not the characteristics of a bug.
If I were having problems of the nature that you described, I'd be at the Apple Store asking for resolution or replacement.
By the way, it wasn't '52, it was '67. Despite what you think, I wasn't old enough to drive in 1952.
Cheers!
Ditto. Interestingly, only my iPad seems to be affected. Mobile Safari on my iPhone seems to work fine.
A peek into the iPad crash logs suggests this bug is related to memory management, as most are logged as 'out of memory' events (even when all other apps have been turned off manually).
I manage software releases for a living, " this " aftermath of the 5.0 release points to defect which is either missed during testing or a "GO" was given with the non issue which then would be resolved post launch...
Definition of a computer bug is "A problem that needs fixing," not a problem that has to affect absolutely everybody. At least according to the Wikipedia Dictionary.

Exactly what I am seeing myself. It may not be a "bug" by definition, but I refuse to believe that it is not a problem that needs to be addressed with a software update by Apple.
I realize that the overwhelming majority of iPad users have had success with this update, but I have also seen way too many (again I will state this as - IMO) users with the most bizarre weird little things going on with their iPads since this new iOS was released.
No edit button in the contacts app, no + sign in the calendar app, Safari crashing ... and the newest thing that I've seen lately - the Settings app crashing and the Mail Setting crashing.
I was around for the update to 3.3 or whatever it was, and every update since. To the best of my recollection - none of those updates brought the complaints out of the woodwork like this update has brought.
Your Wikipedia finding is correct, this is a problem that requires a resolution...let's move away from trying to undermine the problem and seek a FIX from apple
