Yahoo! email not pushing

Having problems recieving my yahoo email on my iPhone 4 after installing iOs 5. It sends emails (I sent test emails to my other email accounts on my phone and they went through) Just my yahoo email not coming in. I've tried everything I can think of .... help?

Push had been working for me sporatically yesterday. As of last night, it again stopped working. As of this morning, I cannot even retrireve messages. The only way to access my new emails are via the web browser. I got this wonderful response from Yahoo regarding this problem:

Looks like I'll be closing my yahoo account after 10+ years and opening another. Anyone have any suggestions on who to use?

That's so odd...both that your push is not working and that response you received from Yahoo. I understand your frustration and do not understand why some accounts work and some don't.


As far as other accounts, Gmail would be the best though Push isn't set up for them via the iOs mail. You can use the actual Gmail app and I get messages pushed to this. I have read that you can get push to work in the iOs mail but didn't read into it.

Don't mean to jinx a good thing by reporting it - but my push has been working fine for almost a week...and continues to function (iphone 4 with iOS 5.0.1 using a yahoo bizmail/paid account).


Regarding Webmommy's correspondence from Yahoo - it took them weeks to even admit there was a problem - it could take weeks for customer service to realize that engineering has implemented what, at least, appears to be a partial solution.


Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work for the ones lucky enough and it starts to work for others.

Mine is still working too, which I am almost afraid to report in case I jinx it.


For those people still having problems, if you have Apple Care I suggest you go back to Apple, and tell them that many Yahoo users have had their push issue resolved, but you have not. Perhaps they can look again at your settings to see if anything new would help. And I would recommend that you spend as little time as possible with the Level 1 person who answers your call and get him/her to escalate to a specialist.

Another potential solution: have an Apple Genius update the modem firmware in your phone. I have a 4s and once I moved from version 1.0.13 to 1.0.14 on 1/19/12, Yahoo mail (normal account, not plus) started pushing again.


Of course, this update might have simply coincided with some change on Yahoo's side, becuase I know some other users got the functionality back around the same time...

I just got done with Yahoo Live Chat. Here is the transcript and at the end you will see the link to contact Yahoo Mobile Support. Please....everyone fill this out and send to Yahoo to complain about the mail not pushing!

Laura: I don't get an error message. I always have to click on the mail icon and hit refresh
