Just sent Yahoo! another email to chase things up.

Dear Customer Care,

I last heard from you about this problem I reported on the 7th of Feb. Could you please give me an update on this?

I am a paid customer of Yahoo Mail! I am using Yahoo! Mail Plus. Is very disappointing that it took Yahoo! such a long time to fix this.

Best regards

SW98,

Glad it helped you. Push has been working fine for me ever since I made that change. I notice it only pushes new emails. If I read or delete a message on my yahoo mail on another device (e.g., my ipad or computer), then that change does not get pushed down. So it seems Yahoo only "pushes" new emails and not the update (read and delete). This does not matter as when I open my email on the iPhone it quickly refreshes any updates.

The most important thing is that I can see new mail has being pushed down.

I'm not an expert on this but I THINK that push notifications and the apps they belong to are separate things. So the fact that you got a push doesn't have any relation to the app being open or not.

I will say that on Friday, I had mail running in the background and the pushes weren't displaying on the screen but I *was* getting the new e-mail sound so that might be a different situation from what I described above.

Greg --

Thanks, I'll try both methods then. When you originally set up your Yahoo accounts, did you choose the "Yahoo" prompt or did you choose "Other" and then manually entered the IMAP settings? I've tried both methods so far and it's too early to tell which is more accurate but I'm trying to see if we can pinpoint this.
