iOS 5 AVRCP is it version 1.3?

Does the final iOS 5 for iPhone and iPad have Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 support? Supposedly the betas have/had it. I have a Kenwood DDX418 car stereo that according to the owner's manual supports AVRCP 1.3 that enables showing tag info like artist, song, album info. I have my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 updated to iOS 5 but the song info doesn't seem to be tranmitting so I'm wondering if the AVRCP is still at 1.0. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with my iPhone 4 running OS5 and my 2012 Mazda 3 Sport. Finds the phone great, plays music but only BT Audio on the screen.

My dealer told me I had to my the Mazda bluetooth adapter (£50) to make it work so I did and as excepted it made no difference whatsoever! (Although I can now play my 3rd gen IPod through the stereo and skip tracks etc.

Would be really interested in what you guys get out of Apple/Mazda as its bugging the heck out of me.

Hey just bought a 2012 Mazda 3 and found this thread. Keep up the work guys, hopefully this gets resolved at some point with all your help. If this gets resolved and everything works as normal, will it be possible to browse the phone's music using the car's controls, or will the only function added be displaying the metadata?

To add another data point...

I have a 2012 Mazda5 GT and an iPod Touch with iOS 5.0.1, and I get only "BT Audio" and no track info.

The labeling on the car's BT module reads:

Mazda Logo followed by: CG36 66 DHX K2352

JCI ASM Number: 2085770 REV 06

S/W Rev: 03.02.000

This supports (or at least doesn't disprove) the theory that this is a issue with interfacing with (some versions of) BT modules from Johnson Controls.

I started this post last year and just wanted to let the forum know that I can't test the 5.1 IOS that came out today with my radio because someone back in November broke into my truck and stole the Kenwood deck I had. I had to put the original radio back in and don't want to risk putting another $500 radio in only for it to get stolen again.

I'll be surprised if Apple added it though, the new Music App on the iPad that came with version 5 lost the lyrics capability to be displayed and it's still not there now with 5.1. My iPhone on version 5 displayed the lyrics still but when I moved all my music to iTunes Match now the lyrics don't display on it either even though the lyrics are still embedded in the songs.

The new iPad has Bluetooth 4, not sure what that will mean for AVRCP 1.3, but maybe it might show the track info via Bluetooth.

I tried my iPhone 4S with the 5.1 update and there is no song information. I tried deleting and re-pairing my device to my 2011 Mazda CX-9 GT but I still had the same problem. I have also had the ongoing problem when I select the pause/play button on screen -- it will pause the music, but pressing the button again never resumes play back. In some cases, I cannot resume the music at all even if using the play button on the iPhone. I have to disconnect the Bluetooth and reconnect.

Has anyone else had any luck? Is this just a flaky Bluetooth implementation by Mazda?? Has Mazda responded to this issue?
