iCloud control panel server error

I can't sign into the iCloud control panel on Windows 7. It keeps saying " can't sign in because of server error". How can this be fixed?

I am having problems in this same vein as well.

The error I receive is:

Error: 0x80004005: Create temp cache dir

Windows Vista 32 bit - service pack 2

Tried:

Reinstall iCloud

Turn off firewalls and anitivirus (MSE)

Grant access through firewall to all programs that are associated with iCloud

Cmd ran as administrator and executed - netsh winsock reset

Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you got this to work that is great! I just spoke with an Apple Tech and they are aware of this issue and they are working on a fix for it. There have been so many people trying to download there are many other issues as well with the MAC not just the PC so he said keep watching Apple support for the latest update and keep trying the control panel. They think right now server issue is "overload"

FINALLY - GOT IT TO WORK! What I had to do was to log out of my current windows profile and log in again as Guest. I started Outlook under my guest profile as if I were using it for the first time (so no active PST file yet) and restarted the cloud for windows panel. This worked fine. Now I just have to get it to work under my active profile or maybe I'll transfer the PST file to the guest account. It appears to me that the culprit was hidden somewhere in my PST file in Outlook. I was getting an ERROR message immediately upon launch of the icloud for windows panel. No details other than "ERROR". I would click ok and close that error popup and then try to sync my Calendar and reminders with OE and it would just stop right there. Hope this info will help others.

This probably doesn't affect that many people, but the roadblock for me seems to have been an internet accountability and filtering software called CovenantEyes. They released an update today that allowed me to finally access the iCloud control panel. If you have any software like that, it could be the problem. Try updating it or uninstalling it.

I had the same problem and also couldn't access the itunes store from inside itunes (blank screen with no errors). I tried disabling my content filter (safe eyes) and windows firewall with no success. On a whim, I tried uninstalling safe eyes and it fixed both problems. I contacted safe eyes to see if they have any solutions in the works but no response yet. Hope this helps!

I did:

1) Click on Start

2) Type cmd and press enter

you will see a new window

3) type "netsh winsock reset"

4) restart the machine

on Windows Vista, and YES, I FINALLY could sign into the control panel.

I am now being told to restart outlook and at my .me account to it so that I can finally sync my outlook calendar to it.

I did that...and now, it is just spinning again...so one step forward!

I have Windows Vista 32 - IE9 -- installed iCloud - everything was fine. Went to workshop to learn about iCloud and discovered that even though I set up photostream on iPad I did not set up my PC (nope, not a MAC).

Went and set it up as they suggested to get photostream. Opened iTunes made those changes they said to make as well.

Now I cannot sign into iCloud -- says push stopped working and cannot sign in because of server error.

So I am left wondering whether it is my computer or Apple's Server issues.
