iCloud .me email not pushing to iOS 5 devices

Exactly the same--worked for one night on bith iPhone 4 and iPad 2 and then stopped.

It has been working for me for about a week.

I waited for awhile before posting to make sure it worked.

I deleted iCloud and added as new. Waylon, where did you setup the new smtp and imap settings. The phone set itself up.

I did not delete iCloud.

Go to settings - Mail, Contacts, Calenders - Open Add Account

Open Other and add mail account.

That did not solve the issue for me. All it did was check for email every 15 minutes, as that is what my fetch settings are on.

I think it's a more general issue than just email push. Since I migrated to iOS5 and iCloud I've had extremely sluggish performance on mail, on calendars and on address book - in other words, all the things that have something to do with talking to iCloud. For example when I go into Mail I seem to have a huge backlog ofdownloads that I never had before, which have to complete before I can start doing anything. And the same for Calendar - I click on a date in order to enter a new event but nothing happens for several seconds. And there's feverish network activity while I'm waiting: it's as though it has to go sync with iCloud before it's able to deal with me. Big step backwards from what I had before. (ie iOS4 with MobileMe sync).

I'm having the exact same problem. My issue is with my Yahoo emai. lt works for a few hours maybe, then stops working, unless I go into my mail account for it to manually fetch. Won't start working unless I delete and add my yahoo account again. Then same cycle, works for a bit, then stops. I've been to the apple store 2 times now, and they even replaced my phone (4S), didn't fix the problem. I have never had a mobile me account.

The other problem is the OS slowness. Everything is crawling now. I really wish I had not upgraded to OS5.

Can't agree with that one. iOS 5 on the whole is faster for me, just this ****** iCloud mail issue.

My iPhone 4 is faster and I love notification center and the meteo widget. I hope in switcher widget for wifi and BT.

Only issue are the push notifications with mail, calendar, contact.

I can't understan if is a iOs 5 proble or icloud problem..boh..

This is abosolutly Apple's fault. It has to do with the mail.app api shutting itself down when you close the app from multitasking. I remember having this problem before around 4.3.3. Then they seemed to fix it. Now it's broken again. Keep submitting bug reports!!!

I added another account using the settings Waylon suggested. I left the iCloud on. So now I have 2 pushing for the same account. They update off of each other so you just check the email on the one that comes in, and the other updated automatically. I've had a few times where it pushed on the manual setup side and didn't push from the cloud, but at least I'm getting all of my mail pushed now.

I don't want that. I want the way it was suppose to work. If they don't fix it in 5.0.1 I will be ******.
