iCloud .me email not pushing to iOS 5 devices

First off, if this is a repeat post please direct me to the existing conversation. As I could not find one I wanted to know if anyone is having an issue with iCloud email being pushed to iOS 5 devices? It seems like the push feature only works when the email app is running in the background and even then it runs very slow. Does anyone know if this is a glitch within iOS5, a server issue, settings issue, etc?

I have already tried deleting the account and re-adding it and various other "fixes" but to no avail. I remember the horrendous rollout of MobileMe and I have a feeling that this is simply more of the same.

I am a MobileMe Family Pack user who migrated to iCloud. On my iPhone, which has the master MobileMe account assigned as the iCloud account on the phone (also assigned for email), push works fine. My wife's iPhone also has the former master account as her official iCloud account for the iPhone (we want to share the same calendars and photo stream), but her email comes from her iCloud email account (former sub-account on MM). She is having push problems. Not sure if others have the same dynamic of having the mail come from a different iCloud account than the main phone iCloud account, and then having push problems on the mail account. I would like to see this fixed.

Hello!

Same problem! From mobileme to icloud. Every thing is ok for a week. Now No push if mail is closed.

I tried to:

-delete and re-add icloud account

-create new icloud account and add to iphone

-reinstall al ios 5 and use with no backup.

The problem is here too.

This is working so far. Thanks for the tip.

Like most of you, I have also tried all possible troubleshooting steps for this issue.

The problem with mail is that it works occassionally... then all of a sudden stops (after a couple of hours)

It works:

right after a reboot

after manually activating mail sync of iCloud in settings

opening mail app manually

...after a couple of hours, we're lucky if we get anything pushed.

It is working like a charm. For the first time since updating to iCloud with my

new iPhone 4s my mail is pushing. Mail app is closed in the background.

No problems. Just set up a new account as above. iCloud is still the default

server.

This might have something to do with MobileMe. Don't know what will happen

if/when Apple shuts down MobleMe.
