Iphone 3GS slow after update to iOS 5

After updated to iOS 5 my Iphone 3GS became generel slow.

Graphics and starting apps are slow. Some apps have now up to 10-15 seconds start time.

I thought closing the Iphone and restart clould help, but NO.

Yeah, like OS windows upstarts. 😁

Ok. processor not the same as new Iphone 4s.

I started to regret my update to iOS5.

you can't themistoklis_koyn probably had a pre 5 iphone and when synced it shows the warning pop-up in his reply...

My solution, sell your upgraded phone on ebay and buy a decent used 32gb for $139.00, try and look for an iphone that is on and you can tell by the main screen if it is the ios 4 or 5

here is the link

Hi Jim,

this is not a correct solution, or selling on eBay ... just get rid of a device which does not work properly anymore - due to a firmware upgrade ios4 to ios5 proposed/stimulated by Itunes on a device (3GS) which cannot carry it properly, and then the person who buys it purchased a "dum Phone" instead of a Smart phone and you as a seller will certainly not get a positive feed-back on e-bay !

Secondly I believe Apple MUST help us, to enable roll-back to ios4 easily.

One can accept that one's device is not powerfull enough to upgrade to a higher ios and thus accepts "missing" some new features, however one should not accept that a new motor is pushed in your car, not knowing that the motor is too big/missfits and so that it will not drive properly anymore afterwards.

I think we need to TRIGGER apple, as anyway all this is not good for their corporate image either

What you think ?

warm regards

First: your selling a phone that operates correctly and due to the ios is at issue does not impact the electronics of the device... Or you can sell the iphone on Craiglist meet in a safe public area sell the phone and get out of there LOL...

Secondly: with over 103K views you would think this would draw Apple's attention... What we have seen from Apple is "Buy a New 4s" not sure what needs to be done to get this matter resolved...

You need to have tour SHSHs blobs in order to downgrade to 4.3.3.

Changing the HOSTS file to point to Cydia servers means that al least Cydia must have your Blobs saved in their servers. So, if you don't have your blobs or don't know if Cydia saved them for you (probably not if you never jailbroken your device) this method will not help.

Apple SHOULD help us!!!

Darklomba, yes, I was just about to write that themistoklis_koyn's posts have been deleted, so Apple is monitoring these forums, but they don't give a **** about their customers and their problems, just their policies and their stock prices. SHAME ON YOU, APPLE!

I knew too well that without Steve Apple would eventually go downhill, but this was sooner than I expected. Oh well, time to find another company with a decent customer care. I'll miss your products, but your customer support *****.

mc.lauwers:

Very good thoughts - I just want to say a word here though representing the Silent Majority of 3GS owners who find iOS 5.0.1 to be working just fine for them. Apple should definitely be pressured to solve the problems experienced by some 3GS/iOS5 users but I would suggest that those users would be better served by a fixed iOS5 than by a rollback to iOS4. The fact that it works fine for most people shows that the platform is perfectly capable of running iOS5 - the fix should not be that hard for Apple to find. That's the way I look at it anyhow. Let's see what 5.1 brings - it's just around the corner.

Over the last week my phone went from being a nuisance to being on the verge of inoperable. Its completely ridiculous that a roll back option hasnt been given. They've basically forced every 3GS owner into an intential obsoletion.

They're selling left over 3GS stock for .99 a phone I believe, which just goes to show that they know theyve screwed it up beyond measure and most likely wont be doing anything about it.

The only solution I can see is good bye apple, hello android.
