iCloud deleted my keynote files

Same here with a Keynote document. Opened on iPhone, edited and closed it. When trying to reopen: 'file deleted in another place', which I had not done, appeared. The file is gone on the Macbook and web. What a disaster. iPhone iCloud backup did not bring it back - a waste of time.

Just happened to me ! Two lectures that I gave (30h work/each) just diseappeared from my keynote IN FRONT OF MY EYES. I saw them when I opened with my Ipad. Then the screen refreshed. And they were not there after 5 sec. I worked on them on my computer 5 minutes ago. I thought it was safer to save them on ICloud that on my Dropbox. BIG MISTAKE.

CALL APPLE! Even if you didn't buy AppleCare or if it doesn't apply in this case. They never charged me for this glitch.

I lost Pages files today ... same thing as many have described here. I saved them via my Mac, then when I went to pull them up on my iPad, I saw them for a second and then POOF they disappeared. Not cool at all.

Exactly the same problem here last night. I was able to restore the document with time machine from Library\Mobiledocuments. Then I moved all iWork documents from iCloud to a local drive on my Macbook backed up by Dropbox.

I used iCloud for more than a year on my iPad 1 with iOS5 without problems. Yesterday was the first time with a new iPad Air and iOS7.

Today Apple deleted all my documents from iCloud after two years of usage without problems... Very frustrating. I kept some personal files there...

After a little research I realized that after the latest automatic updates on my iPad, the "use iCloud" option was deactivated for Pages and Numbers without my knowledge. Turned it on and it's Ok. For a moment I panicked :-)

Just an update on this thread :

I called Apple after many docs disappeared from iCloud (read above). They sent me a new MacBook Pro cover since they couldn't retrieve my files or retrieve the problem. It was nice of them to compensate, but will clearly not use iCloud for important documents anymore.

Inexplicably, all of my iWork documents in iCloud were deleted today, EXCEPT for one Pages document. No one touches any of my Apple devices except me and they're all password protected. I didn't delete anything from any device. Fortunately, I have two versions of backup, one in Time Machine and another in CrashPlan, so I was able to recover everything. But this has shaken my confidence in iCloud. The iWork apps all sync beautifully with one another and the implementation is far more elegant than anything else I've seen. But the one fundamental attribute of a cloud-based system is that data should be secure. And clearly that's not the case here.

I'll continue to stick with the iWork apps given that I have good backup solutions. But, if this happens again, I'm going to try something else.

I too have this problem. all my documents in pages have been deleted. i usually access them on my imac by going to www.icloud.com, logging in, and then clicking on pages. i do not use apps to access pages.

I stored all my keynotes of work in iCloud, but after I reinstalled the Mavericks, logged in iCloud, found the all keynotes were deleted, not in iCloud anymore.

I believed in Apple, never thought iCloud would delete all my files😠! WHO else can tell me how to get my files back? It's really heartbreaking.
