Sound issues using FaceTime on Mac!!

I was using FaceTime perfectly fine. And then out of no where, sound just stopped working. This happened before and then suddenly started working again. I can hear the other person just fine but they can't hear me. I've checked the 'video' option making sure internal speakers are selected. And then systems>preferences>sound, i made sure the input and output sound were not muted. I've restarted computer a few times too. Please help!!!

Bump Bump Bump

Running 10.6.8. MBP FaceTime to iPhone 4/4S, I can hear them, they can't hear me.

MBP FaceTime to iPad2, no issues.

Have yet to try MBP FaceTime to MBP FaceTime.

Haven't run into any issues with iPhone4/4S FaceTime to iPhone 4/4S FaceTime minus a sometimes the sound cuts in and out.

Apple, Resolution please!

I too have this problem. I'm using a Macbook Air running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, calling iPad 2 and 3. Works fine for a while then sound cuts out so that they can't hear me. Restarting the app and the Mac seems to have little effect. So we just end up going back to Skype.

It's particularly infuriating because calling my parents, who are in their 70s, they think they are doing something wrong and every conversation ends with them faffing about with the device for 5 minutes and then saying goodbye in sign language. "just works"? hmmm.

I am using the imac 2011 version OS Lion. I have problems with sound on FaceTime too. It will start to have sound problem (noise and fade) several minutes after start chat. I can plug in the earphone instead using speaker when it happens, then I get the sound back to normal. Sometimes, it will start to have problem again a while after using earphone, then I need to unplug it and use the speaker.

I think it is one way to sovle the problem not totally, but you can try, it may work for you too.

Apple pushed the new mountain lion out to get extra $$ instead of give a service pack to solve our problem!
