Sound issues using FaceTime on Mac!!

I was using FaceTime perfectly fine. And then out of no where, sound just stopped working. This happened before and then suddenly started working again. I can hear the other person just fine but they can't hear me. I've checked the 'video' option making sure internal speakers are selected. And then systems>preferences>sound, i made sure the input and output sound were not muted. I've restarted computer a few times too. Please help!!!

apparently you don't know just what the sound issue is. I hope I can refresh the purpose of this discussion.

When Facetime is used on a mac using the Facetime app the sound of the person on the mac stops working for no apparent reason.

It works fine for various periods of time but in most cases it seems to stop after about 10 minutes.

It's not an issue with Facetime on mobile devises. It's an issue when the mac Facetime application is being used with another mac or another mobile devise.

Anytime you have a conflict with the mic its and easy fix to go to your sound settings and fix it but this issue has

been going on without a fix for about 2 years now.

If you want to make a comment about your particular fix please include just what it was that you fixed.

I had the same issue with FaceTime. Read an earlier post and solved my problem.

1. Open FaceTime.

2. Click Video on the FaceTime Muenu.

3. Ensure internal microphone is checked.

I have sound flower install and that was checked. Once I checked internal microphone it worked just fine. I tested it with my wife, because she is currently in Colorado and I am in Texas. It worked fine. I will reboot to see if it stays checked.I will post again if I have issues after reboot.

After rebooting the setting changed backed to sound flower. I had to check the internal mic again. Will further investigate to see if the internal mic can be set to default and not sound flower.
