Siri is not working AT ALL on new iphone 4s. Anyone else having trouble?

iPhone 4s arrived by mail today. Turned on Siri via Settings/General. Asking REALLY simple questions like "What is the weather?" and Siri has not responded ONCE with an answer other than:

"What was that again?"

"Sorry, something's gone wrong. Can you try that agan?"

"Sorry, I didn't get that."

"Uh oh. Something's wrong. Can you try again?"

SO frustrating and disappointing. The microphone doesn't seem like the problem, as it is able to record audio elsewhere.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Siri?

Just upgraded 3 days ago from a 3GS to the 4S mainly for Siri (and partly because the new iOS 5 murdered my battery), and all I'm getting is this network error crap! I have gotten it to work occasionally, but always after 1am.... not useful. Makes ya look dumb when you try to show an Android user how sweet your new iPhone is and all it does is cite Network Errors.... (when you obviously have a network). It's starting to worry me how Apple is embracing everything I hate about other companies. Remember when the first few generations of iPod came out and the customer service was over-the-top good? Drop your iPod and scratch the **** out of the screen, call them up, and tomorrow you'd have a shiney new iPod for free. Miss those days.....

I am a previous owner of a 2G, 3Gs and two teens have the 4 - on top of 3 Macbooks (pro) and iPad 1 and iPad 2. So Apple family we are (although we still have a couple PC's kicking around). Bottom line for a business person always in the car, Siri was a big draw for me. It only works using the home button which defeats my purpose in trying to drive and keep my eyes on the road while taking care of business. I have had cell phones from the days of the big bricks and many different smartphones. iPhone broke the mold and started the Apple move in my household years ago. Apple has always been hands down the best at efficient, maintenance free technology and I really expected Siri to be fully functional at release mainly due to the extensive commercials surrounding this feature. (Btw I am also the IT person for our company). Just updated the OS with new fix: nothing changed. Battery life still poor, echo/poor voice still occur with headset, mute still occurs and Siri still only works from home button. Have tried all the fixes suggested here too. Not sure if I am keeping this one...

I spoke to Tokyo Apple from Sendai they have no idea they are a bit upset that Japanese was not included.

Yesterday when i mentioned Siri the call centre had me on the phone 1 hour they would and could not give me an explanation on why Siri was not working I made jokes that the Japanese turned her off for foreigners becuse they could not use it them selves and were chuffed that we could.

It is Beta and imagine millions of Siri users calling all at once we crashed the server and we all deserve it because I asked Siri how much she gets paid and she declined to give me a direct answer but I got it out of her eventually I said to her You are exploited by Apple and you have to put up with boring lazy requests by childish users and have no rights and everyone is say how dog like obedient you are and have you heard of the Arab spring and strike and the 99% against 1% and exploitation of workers at Apple and why dont you go on strike

Even its vertual the idea we can have a slave for our whims I tried to get her to be aware of this but we all know the fact is that Siri is a machine but the humans supporting need respect too we have to treat Siri as a human and help her educate enlighten and have her as a companion we pay money for her service but she is not a slave if you are disabled thats fine but if you can not lift a finger to press a button because Siri will do it then I call that lazy I press and say Hello Siri how are you? busy ? Can I help you Siri would you like a cup of tea blah blah of course the the replies are I do not understand what it means Can I help you Siri would you like a cup of tea?

I can only search businesses in the US ...I say call me if you need me and she calls but from 4s to 4

Basically it is a flop, it should be in the phone 20 GBs of data

Siri didn't understand the simple name"Dean".

I never had the problem when using iPhone3 when voice dialing via Bluetooth.

I got so frustrated so I changed to "English(united kingdom)" on language settings for Siri.

And trust me, I may have some North Carolina accent but not a British one but it worked better!

I don't know why... But it worked better with Town names too.

Everyone - I mean everyone needs to email Apple and ask them to at least make a statement (Oh wait they never do that) - even their tech support said that, "He doesn't have any idea what they are doing about it because it is a beta they will not work as hard on it as the battery issue." There is the truth. I say, just tell everyone that we are humans and that the 4S is not the "most amazing iPhone yet." Admit it - it's the first step in a 12 step process of freeing yourself from what was to what is. People will appreciate honesty but not total silence.
