iTunes to iPhone "Unknown error 0xE800007F"

I have Wi-Fi Sync active and it works great unplugged from power -- but when I plug my phone into power and it starts syncing, iTunes says the following:

"iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800007F)."

Searching gives me zilch. Anyone have an ideas? Everything is running the latest verison of iOS, etc., etc...

Does any of you get that error message from their ipad? I suppose not, because for most of us, the ipad does not leave the house (wifi range).

But, we are normal iphone users that leaves home sometimes. When itunes lose contact with the iphone, it doesn't understand that this can be possible. And we get the err msg. Several times a day.

I can't believe that they did not fix it on the last update. A lot of us contacted them directly with the error, with no response.

It's absolutely impossible that they do not read the forum, with an alert to spot the most active discussions, like this one.

This problem has haunted me since the previous update to iTunes (not the one a couple of days ago). Ever since then, it's been happening every single day, and wifi sync has never worked properly. It does work sometimes if I force it, but usually what happens is that the iPhone totally disappears from the device list, and re-add's itself. The 0xE0000... error shows up shortly after.

Very frustrating. One would think that Apple would have addressed this issue in the last update. Not going to bother with wireless syncing until this is resolved.

It took me 5 minutes to get through all the error messages this morning just to use iTunes. It is getting to the point that WiFi sync is more hastle than it is worth considering most nights the wifi sync fails before it get a chance to actually sync. Looking at the WiFi Sync settings on the phone is shows the last sync was 3/11/12 @ 9:31AM.

I am finding that the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and the iPad2 all appear in iTunes as trying to sync when they are not plugged into a power source. Making it look like iTunes is wanting to start to sync not the device. I thought the iOS device would make the "call home" to iTunes to get the sync started.

Ever since wifi syncing was introduced I have had this. With each new update that comes along I try wifi syncing again, in hope, and always, I get error messages (and most infuriating, stuttering when watching films in iTunes as the iPhone pings iTunes to make sure the connection is still live).

I have pretty much given up and stick to using the cable in the PC... but every now and then, I try again, in hope... how hard can it be for Apple to get something like this right? :-\ It is the one feature I most looking forward to.

Yes, the error occurred when I charged my iPhone in the kitchen (using the iPad charger instead of in the bedroom using the Universal Dock charger). However, it didn't happen last night after I turned off "Wake for Wi-Fi network access" in the Energy Saver control panel. I'm going to try a few more tests over the next couple of days to see if this was indeed the fix or just a fluke.

Just an observation - I used to get this message ALL the time. I haven't had this issue after I made upgrades to my router (from 10-year-old Linksys WRT54G to Linksys E3200). The WRT54G didn't have any obvious problems, I just wanted the ability to have Wireless-N for my Apple TV. With the new router in place, I haven't seen the error since. This accounts for old iTunes (older iOS before the 5.1 upgrade came out recently).

Furthermore, my condo has a TON of neighboring WiFi networks (seeing 15-20). I followed all the best practices (i.e., using the least busy 1/6/11 channel, put the old router in a central location), regardless, I wonder if interference was an issue in the past - theory is new router has an improved antenna and handles that better.

I am not necessarily saying you should get a new router, but wondering if interference from a lot of neighboring Wireless networks may be a contributing factor.

This thread is in the wrong forum (s/b Windows, not Mac) and I don't have a solution, but I wanted to add my issue to the list of others who are having this problem. I have an iPod Touch 4g running on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. After returning to the iTunes after leaving for a while, I'll get a collection of these notices (error 0xE800007F) which makes iTunes inoperable until I click OK on all of them. My WiFi sync usually works fine, but I assume it's triggered when I place my iPod Touch in to a charging dock and doens't complete for some reason. Perhaps I'll turn off WiFi sync until it gets fixed.
