iTunes to iPhone "Unknown error 0xE800007F"

I have Wi-Fi Sync active and it works great unplugged from power -- but when I plug my phone into power and it starts syncing, iTunes says the following:

"iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800007F)."

Searching gives me zilch. Anyone have an ideas? Everything is running the latest verison of iOS, etc., etc...

well guess what Klahane, the article i posted helps with issues when connecting wirelessly also... why don't you do something productive for once and post what you have and haven't tried yet so you can get the help you're trying for. it's not something you just wait for apple to fix because it's an issue on your end not apples and other users like me are just trying to help.

WiFi connection to iTunes situation for iPhone 4S to PC Win 7 64 bit is getting even worse. now I get no error code or anything. Just no WiFi connection between the iPhone and iTunes, even though the iPhone 4S is set up to do WiFi sync but cannot do so as it cannot find my PC (which it did find before)

@wild21 after doing the following

"Yes, following the instructions in the email reference earlier (and remember this is for a PC, not a Mac), I disconnected any Apple devices from my PC, closed down iTunes, went to C:\ProgramData\Apple and deleted the Lockdown directory. I then (not part of the instruction, but I did it anyway) restarted the computer."

did you re sync with wire and make sure wireless sync is still enabled. I found after deleting the lockdown folder iTunes could not see my iPad alockdowne, I had to re sync with wire I could then sync via wifi.

Yes I did and for a time the wireless connection worked. now it does not ... at all. I have now re-sync-ed many times using the wire. Still no wireless connection at all (to iTunes ... wifi connection works in general for other things such as emails, etc.)

ditto on the error message 0xE800007F

It seemed to start happening after the latest update to iPhone 4, with the addition of iCloud to both my iPhone and iMac.

My phone syncs wirelessly, through WIFI, but when I plug it in to my computer I get the error message.

I called Apple Care, and the tech couldn't figure it out either. The first one said to disconnect Wifi, but then icloud didn't work (syncing through Wifi). The second tech, said that she would research this problem more, she couldn't fix it.

Otherwise, the phone seems to charge when plugged in... but is not connecting to iTunes.

I hope there is an answer to this error message soon.

This is what I would expect, Apples expertise is in Mac OSX and iOS Operating systems not Windows OS 😁 oh and AirPort Extreme routers.

Well, after no iTunes WiFi connection at all to my iPhone 4S for some time, I completely uninstalled iTunes and re-installed it. Now I do get a proper (it looks like) wireless connection to iTunes that appears to work. I do now get the "Unknown Error ..." message from time to time but at least the wirless connection to my iPhone is functioning. I'll await a future fix of the unknown error from Apple, I guess.

Might as well add in my identical experience for the Apple peeps...if they're listening.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

iTunes 10.5.0.142

iOS 5.0

Everything works fine, except more often than not my iTunes has an error 0xE800007F box super-imposed. This of course makes iTunes very hard to use (although it continues to work fine behind the error message).

I can work with iCloud, sync with a cable, update my stuff etc. but the wireless link between computer and iPhone seems to be the issue.

Fingers crossed...oops...there it goes again 🙂
