Sim Card Failure No Sim with iPhone 4S Anyone Else?

Got the new 32GB iPhone 4S today from AT&T, activated the phone was working all morning, I started experimenting with Siri and a couple minutes later the phone was hotter than usual and I get Sim Card failure, and Bad SIM messages. The phone now only says No Sim. I get home take out the SIM card and put it in my previous iPhone 4 and it works just fine. I then put in a blank micro SIM into the new iPhone 4S, but it still says NO SIM. Thinking the SIM reader got fried some how already.

Anyone else have this problem maybe a bad batch out there, or I just got an unlucky lemon?

I made an appointment for the genius bar tomorrow, but I seriously doubt they will have replacement stock of the 4S already. Guess I will find out what my next course of action will be tomorrow trying to get a replacement since new orders are taking 30 days to ship I am afraid I will have to wait awhile to enjoy the new features of my already paid for phone 😟

EVERYONE WITH SIM FAILURE PROBLEM MUST READ THIS!!!........POSSIBLE PERMANENT SOLUTION!!

First of all, I'm Mexican, so excuse me for my English. Second of all, I live just across the border (Mexicali).....you should know that EVERYTHING in this country is a mophia, and like most of you guys, I have experienced the ''no sim installed'' ''sim failure'' ''no service'' ''searching'', so obviously I went to my carrier and they told me that appl should fix this, and they were right, but we don't have appl Stores in Mexico, and my carrier told me that the best they can do for me is to give me a new device, but not the iPhone 4S, but the iPhone 4...I almost laugh to the employee who told me that.

AAAAANYWAY -------> Solution: DOWNLOAD ios 5 beta 3 and thats it guys, I got the link from this forum like 6 or 7 pages back, download it, and run it on itunes pressing OPTION --> CHECK FOR UPDATE on ytunes

I started my story saying ''a POSSIBLE permanent solution'' because I did this just yesterday, and I really hope is permanent, but im pretty confident IT IS!!!......because I used to get the ''sim failure'' message almost every hour, AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I WAKE UP, the message would came up....

I just woke up, and to my surprise the only thing on the up left corner was this: 3G

So im absolutely sure this will work for many of you guys......Again I hope this is PERMANENT, but Im getting a pretty good vibe that it is, because im up for almost 12 hours straight without the problem.

This just got way to long, but another thing: CALL ME CRAZY BUT THE BATTERY ALSO IMPROVED

Good Luck everyone, download this, try it, your iPhone 4S will return to life!!!

I got out of Android thinking I woulnd't have to deal with sw issues and rooting to fix them and what do I find on the Apple side? Same thing. SIM Failure on Sprint iPhone 4S everytime the signal is weak and/or there is heavy data usage as in radio streaming or navigation. Seems to be heat related and rebooting the phone brings back to normal, until the next time. Lucky for me, I can still back out of the deal and get back on the Android side. iPhone 4S, I hardly knew you.

Just updated to iOS 5.1 beta 3, and it has been working perfectly for the last 24 hours. I am from Mexico and have my iPhone with Telcel (carrier), and I used to get "No Service" about every 15 minutes, and the Invalid SIM notification every three hours or so. Since the update I've had none of this, calls are great, 3g is great and Siri works just fine. The update also improved the battery life, but it's still not great.
