I think I've worked this out! To push all the images to your devices, you have to have photostream OPEN on each device. I'd wondered why mine wasn't working, and just now I made sure each device was connected to the same wifi, opened photos, clicked on photos stream, and hey presto, the photos all appeared...it took a while, though, for them all to turn up.

I read through the previous six pages of replies, complied with the suggestions and, after disconnecting from iCloud and re-connecting, was left with only a few photos in My Photostream (though I am pleased to say they were all the same). I then noticed something they may have been obvious to most, but not to me:

iCloud only backs up (and subsequentally syncs) photos that have been added to the Photostream in the last 30 days.

So, newly taken photos OR older photos newly added to the stream will appear on all devices, but older (30 days+) photos on your current devices will not appear on a new device or newly logged in device. If you do not turn photostream off, all photos in the stream will be retained. I am not sure if this 30 day setting can be adjusted, if it only impacts My Photostream or if you need to upgrade your iCloud membership. Any info on this is appreciated.

Photo stream photos are only retained in iCloud for 30 days. This can't be changed. A rolling collection of up to 1000 photo stream photos will stay on your device until deleted, such as by turning off photo stream. If you turn photo stream off, then turn it back on, you will only get back photos added in the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.

If you want to keep photo stream photos permanently, save them to your camera roll (if not already there), then import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. To save them to the camera roll, open the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.

Greetings Apple friends,

I, too, had this problem. The solution that worked best for me was:

1. Plug your device into your Mac

2. In iTunes, click your device in the left column

3. In the tabs for your device, click Photos

4. Ensure these settings are the way you would prefer

If you are still unable to access your Photo Stream pictures on your iOS device:

5. In iPhoto, create an Event and title it something like "Photo Stream as of mm/dd/yy"

6. Import your most updated Photo Stream pictures into this newly created Event

7. Perform steps 1 - 4 and ensure that this specific event is selected to sync with your iOS device.

This will get those photos on your device but it will not update because it is simply an Event and not Photo Stream itself. To update, you'll need to import any new photos into the "Photo Stream as of mm/dd/yy" Event in iPhoto, update the date in the Event title, and sync with your iOS device.

I posted this because I couldn't figure out a way for my iPhone's Photo Stream to update with the photos that it says there are in my iPhoto's (on my computer) Photo Stream. Hope this helps some of you out!
