iTunes Match Freezes in Step 2

After multiple attempts, iTunes Match continues to freeze in Step 2. It states 1251 songs checked 0 items remaining. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?

This might be the case with step 3. Not so with step 2. At least not in my case. Got stuck on the same song on different computers. I was about to give up, when I finally found out this solution and got it past that song. It's still running now after 12 hours without problems. Note the guy above, who has had the same experience.

I don't think that you have the same problem as most of us. It looks like you were actually stuck on a problematic song (or songs) and your solution fixed it. However, for the majority of people no songs are matching at all, and there is no solution for that.

Same Problem here in Germany: have been using iTunes Match perfectly since launch but now fails to complete Step 2. For 2 days now.

I am so dissapointed that Apple seems to be steering towards MobileMeGate again. I know that somewhere in the disclaimer I might have agreed to a fail of the service due to technical problems but I just wished that Apple communicated that there IS a problem on their end. This would help a lot of users that are now desperately doing stuff to their iTunes libraries by deleting, moving, renaming libraries and maybe will experience problems once the services are up and running again.

Why is this so difficult?

Dominican Republic here, it is morning and just woke up, hoping that the demand will ease I am retrying the process and still have the same issue, it is stuck on step 2, "47 of 355 songs checked" but it won't progress any further, since iTunes Music store opened, I have purchased exactly 47 songs, and that's the number of songs checked.

When arranging my library by "iCloud Download" (the cloud icon), the purchased songs shows no symbol, while the rest has the "dotted iCloud symbol" which means -Waiting-... no duplicated, nor error status or failed.

I'm just going to work and try to forget about this, going to retry when I get back home... ughh.

After reading your first sentence I thought "I bet he's bought 47 tracks from iTunes". This is exactly what many of us are seeing.

Your solution to the problem is the best that I could suggest. Have fun at work. 🙂

People have been trying it, and it doesn't work.

Before it occurred to me that there was probably a problem with Match due to being launched in new countries, I wasted an hour of my life trying to find out if I had a corrupted file. I added four different albums to my library and tried running match with no success. If I deleted them, and there was therefore no new tracks to add then Match finished the process and reported everything find. Add any songs and it just hung, unless they were iTunes purchases, which it deals with. These are not corrupted tracks.

I even deleted a previously matched track, and it hung on it. I have matched nearly 20,000 songs with no problem.

For most of us, this isn't a problem with corrupted tracks. It is an Apple problem. I'll say again, people should check for corrupted tracks, but if that doesn't work, go and find something else to do instead.

obviously not alone in this today. since yesterday ive not been able to get past the 2nd stage.

i deleted all the unmatched files and got through to the 'you have xx songs in your...etc' bit at the end like it normally would, but then as soon as i try and add/match ANY files and albums - even if i just add one or two, it refuses to do anything at that second stage. really really annoying.
