Static in Iphone 4s

I have noticed a static sound while I am on my new iphone 4s 😟 Is anyone else having problems or know any solutions?

Thanks

I have to agree.

In my case, Apple isn't officially acknowledging the issue of the static, of which I have clearly recorded.

I am on my 4th handset and the static issue was present on all of them, but now the battery performance on this last one is horrendous. We are not alone and the battery's poor performance is coming to light on the web via Tech Crunch and other sites.

I have a firend that doesn't experience any of these issues we speak of. SO why doesn't Apple just admit there was a bad batch, track it down and do a recall that specific batch of phones.

So I am going to try one more new handset and if it can't cut the mustard or Apple can't assure me of a fix is coming soon, its back to my iPhone 3G and open my eye's to other solutions for a smartphone. I have been very patient and they know it.

Can't you try your SIM in your friends phone?

Or are you both on the same network?

Curious if it's related to the provider.

If you're both on the same network it might be just your phone being bad.

Only way I see that be the case is if everyone that got a replacement just got back another broken phone

that had been turned in for the same issue 🙂

I could imagine Apple checking the phone and when they don't hear the noise they just wipe

the and put them in the refurbished stack?

I just got my second new phone.

The genius was incredibly understanding and helpful. He made a test call on the device and noticed the static.

He didn't experience the echo/interference issue, but that seems random.

In response to some of the other posts, I've never had anything but stellar service from Apple, and this time was no different.

He swapped it out and I went on my way.

Once in the car I made some test calls and noticed an incredible difference.

Calls were clearer and the static was much quieter.

I thought I was in the clear!

Unfortunately the echo/interference has returned.

It was really bad too... Sounded like a helicopter.

But the worst part of it is that the static has returned.

I haven't synced any of my old data, just loaded a few apps, and an audiobook or two onto the new phone.

I don't think any of that could have caused the static to return, but I've since reset everything back to factory-fresh to see if I can make it any better.

I really don't k ow what to do.

If I'm still having trouble by tomorrow I'm going to seriously consider just returning my 4s to AT&T (begore my 30 days are up) until they get this worked out....

*sigh*

I'm having the same issue that many have described here. I'll be in the middle of a call and I either get static or echo. Sometimes both. Its so bad that I can barely hear the person on the line and they say they can't hear me. It just becomes a lot of noise.

I've been monitoring these threads to see if Apple responded or someone found a solution. Maybe a software update would help too. Problem is that my 30 days are soon to be over. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to return my new phone for a refurbished phone and have the same problem.

So... Third phone, factory fresh, still having the static and echo problems.

Tonight's calls were especially bad. Embarrassingly so.

I've also noticed something else...

If I'm streaming a podcast or listening to anything in Safari, and I get a call, the audio from quicktime will cut into my call... Sounding almost like the echo but slightly different. Maybe there's an antenna crossover issue?

I've tried disabling all 3g data, all location services, enabling sound check, having no music, disabling Siri, disabling bug reports and all time zone data, shutting off wi-fi and bluetooth... Everything.

Nothing helps.

It's so hard to do this, but I need to be able to make calls.

I'm going to have to go back to my trusty 3gS.

I'll miss you, Siri.

I'll miss you, camera.

I'll miss you, facetime.

But I'll miss you, most of all, retina display. :,(
