iOS 5 Bluetooth ford problem

I have a 2011 (UK 11 reg) Ford Mondeo with built in Sony radio with sat nav, Bluetooth and CD. It has been linking fine to my iPhone 4 via Bluetooth both for phone calls and audio as needed running iOS 4. However since upgrading to iOS 5 it won't keeps saying it can't establish data connection, audio breaks up then the phone disconnects intermittently, and the radio no longer displays my phone signal strength which I relied up to know I had a signal.

This is a major pain as I need it to be reliable as it was until recently for work support phone calls. Can anyone please advise how to resolve this? Please don't say take it to my Ford dealer, 1) they will likely have no clue 2) why the **** should I when it's Apple's upgrade which has caused the problem - it was fine before I installed iOS 5.

Right this is the latest from Apple's customer service. I pre arranged a call from apple last week and they just rang me, basically the chap told me it is the CAR DEALERS FAULT they should upgrade their systems and that Apple have no responsibility to us whatsoever. He told me there was no immediate apple ios upgrades and if BMW can upgrade their system there is no reason why other dealers cant do the same,

I have an 11 plate Fiesta Zetec s which happens to need some warranty work doing to it tommorrow 27/10 and my local Ford dealer did say that there was an upgrade for the stereo so i will keep you informed !!

Just to keep this thread going. I'm from Poland and I'm having the same problems on my Sony audio in my Focus CC 2009. I was working well on iOS4 but since the upgrade it not working at all, or the audio system dissconnects after 20min of streaming music over bluetooth. I also have USB port in my car but it was unable to discover my iPhone since the beggining so I don't use the cable at all.

Went to the dealer today and they say that there is no update for the audio system but they had the same problems with other Ford cars (they mentioned Focus and Kuga). So it's back to CD... too bad I started using iTunes and purchased music from there. Now it's useless for me...

Dear Ian, it's Wed Oct 26 and I have spent most of the day talking to apple (we have no plans to upgrade iOS5 to make its Bluetooth compatible with Ford's Sony system). Ford, who say they can't be held responsible; but are working on a fix and Orange, my provider, who says I should ask apple to allow me to revert to iOS4. Apple say they are wrong to suggest this, as it's impossible. It beggars belief that the world's biggest cell phone company and the second or third biggest car manufacturer cannot come up with a solution to this. Perhaps it's yet another example of true American ethical behaviour as against that in Europe where the customer counts. My Ford dealer says a fix is being worked on but has no clue when it'll arrive. I may pass my comments to the Daily Mail - they'll love the story.
