iOS 5 Bluetooth ford problem

I have a 2011 (UK 11 reg) Ford Mondeo with built in Sony radio with sat nav, Bluetooth and CD. It has been linking fine to my iPhone 4 via Bluetooth both for phone calls and audio as needed running iOS 4. However since upgrading to iOS 5 it won't keeps saying it can't establish data connection, audio breaks up then the phone disconnects intermittently, and the radio no longer displays my phone signal strength which I relied up to know I had a signal.

This is a major pain as I need it to be reliable as it was until recently for work support phone calls. Can anyone please advise how to resolve this? Please don't say take it to my Ford dealer, 1) they will likely have no clue 2) why the **** should I when it's Apple's upgrade which has caused the problem - it was fine before I installed iOS 5.

@t16mbo

if you press the AUX button, it should switch between: Line In; USB and Bluetooth.

Presumably you don't get the USB option come up?

Seems odd as the review here of what sounds like your vehicle definitely refers to it having a USB port http://vans.autotrader.co.uk/van-news-reviews/ford/fiesta/ford-fiesta-sportvan-c dv-2009-van-review/0111cec3-e2c5-4c94-ae5e-acf292e745d0

I'm very pleased for all the lucky people with successful updates. However I've tried the update on 2 different USB sticks now to no result whatsoever it just does not want to know. The first stick said the USB device does not contain recognised audio data, the 2nd said it was initialising the USB device and stuck that way endlessly until it was removed. The file was downloaded to my Mac via the link contained in the instructions document, and the instructions and video were followed to the letter.

To be honest I'm absolutely sick to the teeth of faffing around wasting my evening with a headache trying to do this, when to my mind it is Apple's fault that they caused the problem which was working absolutely fine prior to iOS5. All I want is a update to iOS5 to return the functionality I already had. Oh and someone to have the common from their company to respond to their unhappy customers. To the people who suggested going the papers I recommend you do so, this situation is not acceptable.

I have also installed this update and it does seem to have worked. Well done Ford and those that pointed us in this direction. It seems a real shame that Apple have ignored the problem.

I have had the pleasure of being at a presentation by Steve Jobs who siad that Apple were able to be so innovative because they released software ahead of the game, secure in the knowledge that the users would report and help in the debug process.

I hope the current Apple management reflect on this and their wholly inadequate response to this issue. Do they think this is a fitting epitaph to a person who made such a difference to the world of technology

HI,

I have iphone 3gs with ios5, and ford kuga. Since updating software ive notice a lag inbetween my phone ringing and the connection being made to the bluetooth.

One other anoying thing that has always happened is that itunes starts playing automatically, regardless if i am listening to the radio or not. So if i have the radio on, the itunes is playing using up battery. the only way to stop this is to manually enter itunes and pause the song. Does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks
