iOS 5 Bluetooth ford problem

I have a 2011 (UK 11 reg) Ford Mondeo with built in Sony radio with sat nav, Bluetooth and CD. It has been linking fine to my iPhone 4 via Bluetooth both for phone calls and audio as needed running iOS 4. However since upgrading to iOS 5 it won't keeps saying it can't establish data connection, audio breaks up then the phone disconnects intermittently, and the radio no longer displays my phone signal strength which I relied up to know I had a signal.

This is a major pain as I need it to be reliable as it was until recently for work support phone calls. Can anyone please advise how to resolve this? Please don't say take it to my Ford dealer, 1) they will likely have no clue 2) why the **** should I when it's Apple's upgrade which has caused the problem - it was fine before I installed iOS 5.

Here is what I did (and it didn't work):

·Prepared a USB with the files on it.

·Went to the car and turned the stereo on.

·Plugged the USB into the port (in the central console, as that's the only USB port I have)

·Turned the car on (without actually turning the engine on - i.e. with the clutch pedal depressed)

No message or whatsoever appears on my display. I can see the USB is being read for a short time (like 10 secs) and then it stopps. My navigator is the DVD version though... but I can't find any specific version for my car.

Maybe there is somebody who can help!

I've successfully carried out the upgrade last night via a USB stick on my '60 plate Titanium X Sport and thought that all appeared to be working correctly except that now today I seem to be having problems automatically pairing my iPhone 4 (with IOS5) with my Mondeo everytime I start my car - I have to go into my settings on my iPhone and manually pair! I've tried debonding/Forget this device etc and re-pairing but to no avail.

Upgrade is fantastic apart from this slight issue.

Anybody else experienced/experiencing this?

Any suggested solutions to my problem?

Looks like you folks in the UK got a fix, here in the USA, I checked my Ford site and there is no update to my 2011 Ford Edge with has the Ford (microsoft) MY Touch system. I have the latest updates and none newer are available for download. My 3GS with iOS5 does not pair with the bluetooth anymore and in fact the phone no longer seems to find any bluetooth devices at all. This is something Apple did with iOS5 since the same phone running iOS4.3 worked fine in the car and found other bluetooth devices. The only change was the upgrade to iOS5. Apple please acknowledge the issue, you must have changed something.....

Hi Toshi,

quick question to you and all who will like to provide me with a feedback.

I updated yesterday my Ford Bluetooth software, following the instructions on the website you cited. It seemed that everything had gone fine, apart for the fact that the radio didn't mute during the upgrade (as it should have been) and that there was no "successful update" message in the end.

Now I have in the phone section of the audio systems my address book, callers' lists and radio signal strength back. Also music played via Bluetooth works fine: music is played with no problem at all, no more error messages, no ore mute after a while, I can also see songs titles now.

My questions are the followings:

1. I now see repeat, shuffle, scan and info buttons in the music via Bluetooth screen: however, I can only use shuffle and info since the other two does not work at all. Is this something happening to you, too?

2. Sometimes when I skip from one song to another using wheel commands the title of the song freezes, in the sense that you play a given song but the car displays still the title of the previous one. Do you experience a similar behavior?

My questions are just to try to understand if my upgrade was only partially successful and therefore if this is the case to try to install it again.

Many thanks in advance to you and all those who will be so kind to provide me with a feedback.

Cheers,

Riccardo

Riccardo, my focus is doing the same as yours, post update.

In that only the shuffle and info button available and occasionally when I skip forward the pervious track info remains. This can be solved by skipping forward again.

To be honest compared to the hellish problems before the update I can live with these small issues
