iOS5 bugs (iPod Touch 4G)

iPod Touch 4G updated to iOS 5. Cover Flow is very slow and laggy, Youtube and Facebook (already updated for iOS 5) are laggy too. But most of all the homescreen sometimes freezes for a few seconds after unlocking the display. Finally the device is in general slower than before (iOS 4.3.5).

Is someone experiencing the same issues?

Please help .

If you did the full restore from iTunes and then you choose to restore the iPod from backup ...in this case what you did is useless because in this way you restored the temporary files and so on that were the bug's cause ?.I tell you this because I tried it by myself and I have opened this thread...the solutions to the freeze after unlock issue are two: 1) full restore without backup so that you format the iPod 2) the easy and fast one Ive told you up and down in this thread...I'm looking forward your response

Hi Elanigiro, thanks for the tips but it didn't work for me, I reseted the settings as you told and everything went fine but a couple of hours later the unlocking freeze returned. Also I did the full restore, and set it up as a new iPod but it is only a temporal solution because the freeze always returns after a couple of weeks.

Thanks anyway and I hope this bug would be corrected in a new iOS update.

I had also this issue on my iPod touch 4G running on iOS 5.0.1-JBken...Than I tried to update to iOS 5.1, but WITHOUT backup!! that is very important. Dont forget to backup your SHSH blobs for later downgrade if you will want. For JBkers-dont worry, there is allready tetheret JB, I hope soon will be untethered. My iPod touch is now running fast like on iOS 4.x.x, its so simple-try this!! No more SB crashes, freezes after unlock, so laggy spotlight-I also had this problems on iOS 5.0.1

I hope I was helpful.

And for some repliers, PLEASE dont write here replies like - Try to double click home button and exit all apps. -

That knows everyone...

Please reply, if you recognize some enhancement on your iPod touch

My bug problems (turns white then off when trying to edit photos\deleted all my notes\displays crazy numbers in phot albums, such as, I have 200 photos and it says I have 80) only started when I agreed to the IOS 5 update. At my family we bought on a whim the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (mine) and everyone is very dissapointed. These devices where highly recommended but I feel like we just got fooled by a trend. It crashes and freezes like a celphone I had in 2001, not joking.

I have a iPod 32gb 4th gen... it's currently running on 5.1.1 Though not as silky smooth as it was (4.3) but now with few changes in settings... the basic stuff (that is generally using it on a day to day basis ) gets easily done wihtout much freezes.

You might want to try the following :

1. Disable locations / messaging / icloud / notifications (try to keep as less as possible) / integrated_twitter (if not using) completely, facetime.

2. Restart your iPod. It should be a bit faster

3. Regarding coverflow... even i'm facing the lagginess. Also, if you have any huge playlists... maybe breaking it down into smaller playlists might also help... don't forget the restart -- but this might/might not show improvements 😕

Hope it helps to reduce a bit of the lagginess

Thanks !

Had all the issues everyone is complaining about with my iPod 4g 32GB running the latest version of iOS5. Restored the device at least 5 times, tried everything to make it work correctly. A released product from such a large company like Apple should not have so many flaws. I finally got sick of the thing and sold it off to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0. I have to say, I'm more than happy I did. The iPod 4g was my first Apple product and I was completely dissappointed. No thanks. 😝

Hrm, I tried this, and I think it's possible that the slide to unlock lag/freeze has reduced but my bluetooth doesn't stay on?

Like I went into the settings and turned bluetooth on. It shows that it's "On." And I didn't encounter any freezes until today, and when I checked my settings it had turned itself off?

I will report back if I ever get any freezes and bluetooth is actually on.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway!
