Yahoo wants to sync, and I keep saying NO!

I keep getting a yahoo contact sync alert every thirty minutes or so - most annoying as I don't want to sync any contacts, and it wants to sync with a deleted account. This happened after the upgrade to Lion. I have checked iCal and address book and email. No reference to Yahoo, but popup still occurs. HELP!

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Since I updaded to Lion and Icould I had the yahoo sync pop up showing up.

I got rid of the yahoo sync pop up message ( that was driving me crazy). The apple care operator suggested to go to:

UTILITIES>

KEY CHAIN ACCESS>

PREFERENCES>

and RESET MY DEFAULT KEY CHAIN

it seems that the sync progams was trying to seach for a password of my n account that was deactivated.

hop this helps.

These are the steps:

Here's how to turn off this pop-up:

  1. Open the Mac Address Book
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Uncheck Synchronize with Yahoo!

When I checked my address book, the "Synchronize with Yahoo!" was unchecked. I proceeded to check the check box, I hit agree on a T&C pop-up and then canceled out when it asked for my login in credentials.

Guess what?! The pop-up disappeared! Finally!

Go to Finder, scroll down and find the System folder and click to open, find Library folder and click to open, find folder called PrivateFrameWorks click to open, scroll down until you find YahooSync. Drag it to the Trash, right click on Trash, click Empty Trash. I also dragged my Yahoo Messenger to Trash just to make sure everything Yahoo was gone. Then I reinstalled the Messenger application on my MacBook Pro. So far so good...

When it pops up to sync, approve the merge to sync with contacts on this computer option.

Then a box will apprear.

YAHOO will have a small arrow next to it under your password request.

DO NOT PUT IN YOUR PASSWORD UNLESS YOU WANT TO PROCEED WITH MERGING

click the small arrow, it will tell you exactly where YAHOO SYNC application is. Mine was under SYSTEM->APPLICATIONS->PRIVATEWARE...

BEFORE DELETing that annoying thing to the trash. Just make sure you cancel out of the POPUP BOX first after you've learned where its located BEFORE you DELETE. In my case it wouldn't allow me to delete it while its up.
