Still can't connect to network- Siri. Anybody else still having issues?
iPhone 4, iOS 5
It happened to me intermittantly a few times... it works for the most part, and I really didnt change anything to get it to start working.... not sure... maybe try to reset your network settings?
Try going in the setting ps for siri, turning it off and then back on. Simple, but it worked for me! Give it a try!
I get that same error message about not being able to connect to a network which is ridiculous because the phone has 3G. It happened to me all day yesterday and worked right only one time. I was so excited about having this voice activation and as of right now I'm pretty disappointed with it!!!
I have the same problem.. I also tried to reset my network, reboot my iphone, disable then enable siri.... nothing worked for me.... so disappointed..!!!
Worked fine at 8:30 a.m.... sent several messages, checked weather, etc. Got back to work and was showing it to coworkers, now it won't work. Tried all the resets/reboots, but apparently it's some sort of dedicated Siri server issue. Just guessing... it's pretty new so I'm willing to give them a while to adjust to the load.
Not to pile it on, but I'm having the same issues.
My phone is doin the same thing.. I was disabling sire reseting the net work and then the phone and the re-enabling siri. and is doesnt work.. It stopped working for me around 6:00pm ET I was applying the reset fix i had to do it multiple times. it started to work around 1130pm ET and when i woke up this morning around 900am ET agian it will not work. I keep getting "can not connected to network" i have tried all resets suggested no luck.. I thing apple needs to stregthen and boost capacity on there server end. I came to this IPhone soley bc of Siri and with out the leading software that i believe separates Apple from the rest.. this phone is junk hardware.. I was furious when i learned that the RAM is only 500mb.. all new droids have a Gig with the dual core processors..
Why would apple put a dual core chip in a phone with little/no RAM?????? I believe this is whats causing all alot of issues with Siri... If you have mulitle apps open or in the inactive state.. there is NO Room in the memory for Siri to run and function properly!
I've not been able to get Siri for the past 3 days. Same message "Sorry, a problem occured recieving response from the server"
IOS5 on 3GS. There is no on/off option for Siri in Settings -- just a enable location on/off.
Reboot did not help.
Most of what Siri does happens server-side. The issue isn't local and has absolutely nothing to do with your hardware.
You don't need a GB of RAM to do what you do on a phone. Maybe on an Android phone, where memory management is painfully inconsistent and inefficient.
Siri is an iPhone 4S feature only. You won't have Siri on your 3GS.
Hmmm... I've had Siri on my 3GS for a while now (almost a year0. My understanding was that original functionality of Siri remains avail on 3GS and 4, but the enhanced functionality would not be available.

Just to add to the drama...I can't connect either. I bought it yesterday, worked fine all day, hasn't worked at all today. I'm so annoyed! I waited almost three weeks for this phone. I finally get to play with it. And it doesn't work.
If I only knew what network it was trying to connect to! My 3G is fine and I've got all my bars!
I recived and set up my phone on Tuesday without any issue. Siri worked fine all day yesterday but has been down all day today. I turned Siri off. I went to airplane mode. I rebooted the phone and reset the network. Nothing. I guess were going to have to get used to the idea that we purchased Iphone 4.
I have tried all the above as well, with no resolution. Very frustrating not being able to use this great feature. If anyone knows how to correct this or somehow figures it out, please post ASAP.
Same here, tried turning off Siri, resetting network connections, then restarting Siri, still nothing.
Been inoperable all day today, worked fine beforehand.
