Push email does not work (iCloud)

Since the update to icloud the push email does not work anymore. Im only talking about the me.com adress no Yahoo oder other Emails. I didnt changed the Mail settings and pushing mails worked fine before the update to icloud.

Example:

When i switched on the phone in the morning the mails i received during the night immediately got pushed to the iphone. That doesnt work anymore. It only receives the mails when i switch to the mail app.

Any suggestions anyone?!? 😟

Im using newest iOS 5 with an iPhone 4S and migrated my old me.com account to iCloud.

Klaus just go to settings-iCloud and delete your iCloud account from that device. When you will be asked to delete all related data from your device select the option to keep it locally (not delete). Then log-in back to iCloud with your iTunes login, and go to the iCloud settings. There the mail should be turned to "off". When you enable it the iOS informs you that you have to create a @me.com alias. Agree, set your alias and you are good to go. After you have done this I would recomend you do a couple of restarts on your device (both of my devices needed 2 restarts each! 😝)

I just did the following:

On my iPod I deleted my own iCloud (former MM) account and also deleted my data. Then I did login with a friends account (This is a totally new iCloud account created a few weeks ago). And this very instant his eMails were pushed to my iPod. It does not matter if Mail App is in the background or opened at all. And I did not even had to restart the iPod. It simply works. Just like it is supposed to be.

So I stick to my theory that new iCloud accounts are not affected. Only certain older accounts are and I guess all of them had something to do with MM.

Marc,

I have an iPhone 4S with 5.0.1 and two iCloud Email account set up: a brand new one for family purposes and my personal one migrated from MobileMe.

After having read this whole thread and still having the same problem as you have, here's my summary:

  • migrated MobileMe to iCloud Email doesn't push anymore, but ....
  • after restart (Power & Home button pressed till phone's switched off) push works only one time and
  • a completely new iCloud Email pushes fine

I thought of resetting my phone, but I don't think this is necessary anymore as you guys found out a reset doesn't solve anything.
