Here's a mini-update for you guys... I tried the workaround that has been posted here a few times:
- go to Settings --> iCloud and turn off Mail
- go to Settings --> Mail, Contact,Calendars --> Add Account... --> Other
- Create a new Account with these Settings : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864?viewlocale=en_US
- restart Mail or restart your iOS device
- now Push-Mail should work
This worked for a few days, and I was happy.
But then...
I got an email from the Apple tech that I've been working with on this issue, and he told me that they are still testing my account. Interestingly, I also received a couple of random test emails from Apple, and it was then that my email stopped pushing again.
Coincidence?
Has anyone had continued success with the above workaround, or does it eventually stop pushing again?
In any event, I went back to the only solution that has worked for me. Turned off iCloud Push slider, and set my phone to Fetch every 15 minutes. I don't get the emails the very moment they come in, but I do get them at least every 15 minutes, which works until they (hopefully) resolve this issue.
I also followed up with an email to my tech to let him know the Push stopped again, and let him know how my phone is now set up. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything new.
