Photostream is not syncing on my Windows 7 PC

So... no matter what I do, I can't get Photostream to sync to my Windows 7 PC.

I have iCloud desktop set up. I have the folders where they should be. Photostream works on my iPhone (I turned it off on my iPhone, it removed the pics, turned it back on, and it loaded them back on)

However, photos placed in upload on my PC don't upload... and no photos from my photostream have loaded on to my comptuer. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the iCloud desktop program.

Any thoughts? It's working great on my wife's PC (which I set up), so it's not that I don't understand the concept.

I've even shut down my virus scanner to see if that was blocking (it wasn't).

Sooooo... it's driving me crazy. Is there a service I can look for in Windows that might not be running? Anything? Anyone? Buehler? I need help!

Update: after uninstalling, then reinstalling iCloud, it seems I am now being punished with the Photo Stream option grayed out in the iCloud control panel. It's like the Apple Soup Nazi... "no photo stream for you" 🙂 Again, tried everything from re-resetting iCloud, uninstall, reinstall etc. but photo stream does not like to be enabled.

Photostream worked fine for me on my Win7 (64bit), until this week. I've tried repair, uninstall/reinstall, folder permissions, having the folder in default location, C:, D: and E:. Nothing works now. Have to revert to prehistoric method of manually uploading pics. Love the Iphone, but the support behind it is really disappointing.

Was there a recent update that messed everything up?

I hate to bust anyone's bubble, but the problem isn't with Windows or any software running on Windows, Apple or not. The problem is Photostream itsel - or perhaps iCloudf. Just got of the phone with Apple tech support. Ran a bunch of tests using a dummy iCloud account. Took photos on my iPhone 4s. Couldn't get them to reliably show up on my iPad 2, much less my Windows PC. There are even photos on the iPhone camera roll that don't show up in Photostream on the same iPhone. Yet another Apple software offering that just doesn't work. Why do people believe their hype? POS indeed.

@RadicalDad... if only it were that simple.. But it's not... One of the issues specifically on the PC is that the background processes apple has for syncing constantly die (check taskmanager) - either immediately they are started or after a short time. This element is very specifically related to the processes on the windows PC.

I was able to clear my problems via photostream reset,(O/S vista 32 bit). but what I am finding is that everytime I delete a photo from my iphone, the problem reoccurs and I have to again reset the photostream.

My question is, has anyone else that has resolved their issue, which ever way, and then deleted an unwanted photo to see if the problem reoccurs? By narrowing down the problem to possibly an action could help Apple in fixing the bug if they are reading this stuff. It's been frustrating...
