Photostream is not syncing on my Windows 7 PC

So... no matter what I do, I can't get Photostream to sync to my Windows 7 PC.

I have iCloud desktop set up. I have the folders where they should be. Photostream works on my iPhone (I turned it off on my iPhone, it removed the pics, turned it back on, and it loaded them back on)

However, photos placed in upload on my PC don't upload... and no photos from my photostream have loaded on to my comptuer. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the iCloud desktop program.

Any thoughts? It's working great on my wife's PC (which I set up), so it's not that I don't understand the concept.

I've even shut down my virus scanner to see if that was blocking (it wasn't).

Sooooo... it's driving me crazy. Is there a service I can look for in Windows that might not be running? Anything? Anyone? Buehler? I need help!

I had posted a 7 step procedure on how to reset photostream earlier in the thread. I have O/S Vista 32 bit and I know some have tried the procedure with O/S 7 and were unsuccessful. I came across this thread when I had experienced this the first time a few months back. This issue started with the last iO/S upgrade. If you cannot find it, I will try to repost asap or click on your icloud icon and click icloud help and it will be listed on the left window pane.

From what I see on this thread most have repaired with a reinstall but anything is worth a try. For me it was the photostream reset.

Hi,

Have the same problem here. It just stoped working. Logout and login again helped once, but then it stoped again.

I'm going to uninstall iCloud and install Microsoft SkyDrive. It's available on all platforms and does the same thing, only it works. Not to mention that you get far more space in the cloud once you sign in.

It looks a little odd for me to do that, but my only goal here is to have a working solution.

Hope it helps somebody else too.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to post in here after reading most of this post. I was having the same issue with my PC's photostream not being updated from my iPhone. I noticed a post where someone said disabling their adhoc shouldn't matter.

Well I had an adhoc set up at one time from a program on my iPhone that claimed to let me use it as a tether. As soon as I removed this connection from my manage wireless connections list, the photostream updated. I was not using this adhoc, and have never actually used it, it was just a connection on my list.

You guys may want to try that if you have an adhoc and I hope i could help someone out here.

Thank you,

Shane

Im glad it worked for a few people. It was worth the post then. I found that when I delete a photo from my iphone or ipod touch it occurs again so I have to go into the photostream and reset again. That's good enough for me. I read where Apple was to issue an iOS update soon and hopefully it will resolve this annoying issue for all of us!

Everything was fine for a few months, suddently, out of nowhere, phtostream sync stopped. Tried, uninstalling, reinstalling, folder permissions... nothing worked. Tried installing iCloud control panel and setup photstream on a secondary PC: instant sync of all files!

Still no go on the main PC.

(same OS, hardware, etc)

I give up...

I have two Windows7 x64 machines and Photo Stream works on one and not the other. I followed the steps in this thread but on the computer that doesn't work the program ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe immediately crashes on launch. I've also tried safe mode. I'm going to keep chewing on it but after safe mode I'm not sure where to go to find the incompatibility or conflict.

Despite having started this thread a year ago... and actively tried everything... but finally gave up. I figured now that iCloud 2.0 was out, I'd try again - a las, my problems seem to continue. Granted, mine have always seemed to be different than everyone else's, but I thought maybe it was time to try again. I even did a fresh install and reset my photostream. And still... nothing. My laptop just does not like iCloud. I'm assuming I have something installed that conflicts with it, but no idea what. I'll probably have to just wait until I have a new computer some day.

It works great on my wife's laptop... go figure. Oh well. Here's hoping 3.0 can overcome my laptop issues...
