Photostream is not syncing on my Windows 7 PC

So... no matter what I do, I can't get Photostream to sync to my Windows 7 PC.

I have iCloud desktop set up. I have the folders where they should be. Photostream works on my iPhone (I turned it off on my iPhone, it removed the pics, turned it back on, and it loaded them back on)

However, photos placed in upload on my PC don't upload... and no photos from my photostream have loaded on to my comptuer. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the iCloud desktop program.

Any thoughts? It's working great on my wife's PC (which I set up), so it's not that I don't understand the concept.

I've even shut down my virus scanner to see if that was blocking (it wasn't).

Sooooo... it's driving me crazy. Is there a service I can look for in Windows that might not be running? Anything? Anyone? Buehler? I need help!

Hi jcald! I would like to know if your solution resolve the problem of uploading FROM PC to Photostream. My Photostream is working fine when I took picture with my iPhone or iPad, I can see it on both devices and on my PC. But, when I add a photo in the Uploads directory, nothing happen... Nothing on the iPad or the iPhone. Any ideas? Thank you!

I see a lot of people are asking about uploading from their PC to icloud in order to access from their mobile devices. I posted a solution earlier in this discussion, am reposting here for your convenience.

Hopefully will help some of you.

For Windows 7: (should be similar for other versions of windows)

  1. Click start button
  2. Click all programs
  3. Click icloud folder
  4. Click photo stream.

This will open the folder with the icon "My Photo Stream".

Instead of double clicking the "My Photo Stream" icon, RIGHT CLICK THE"My Photo Stream" ICON, which will bring up the option to "Add Photos".

Click "Add Photos", then simply navigate to your photos in the "open" box.

Very unintuitive in the world of drag and drop, but it worked for me. Hope it works for the rest of you!!!

I am using Windows 7 and about 2 weeks ago photostream on my PC stopped updating photos but photostream on my iPad and iPhone still worked. I went into the programs and removed the iClound control panel and redownloaded from Apple's site. After logging in to iCloud control panel and clicking apply to confirm my settings the new pictures I had taken began to appear in my photostream folder on my PC.

I had the problem where PhotoStream on my Windows7 PC just stopped updating. It had been working fine. And then, as of one day, it just stopped downloading new pictures. I know Photo Stream is working from my iPhone, because I get new pictures on my iPad. Just not to my PC.

I spoke to Apple Support and they helped me fix it. All you have to do is rename the shortcut that it creates in your Favorites in Windows. Go into Windows Explorer (or your Pictures folder or whatever) and in the left-hand pane, in the Favorites section, there should be a shortcut names "Photo Stream". Right-click on that and do Rename. Names it something else (like add "Old" to the end). Then, go into the iCloud Control Panel. This should create a new shortcut in your Favorites with the name "Photo Stream" (you may need to uncheck the Photo Stream checkbox in the iCloud Control Panel, do Apply, then re-check and do Apply again).

Once I did this an dit re-created the shortcut, all my new pictures downloaded instantly! Apple support said this is a bug that they are going to be addressing in a new version of iCloud Control Panel. But for now, this work-around works great!

sk.99- I tried the option you mentioned above. When I tried to rename my photostream, it said I needed permission to do so. then i went under favorite links and renamed it adding 'old' at the end, but when I went back to my control panel to find that folder, I couldn't. Are you able to break down the steps again very simply because I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to this. Or you could email me directly for specific instructions. My icloud downloads were working fine. Now, nothing is going to my photostream on my iphone nor on my desktop. i am so frustrated with this and thanks so much for all your help.
