I hope Apple will sort this out in a future update.
What would be helpful would be to have the same function for deletion or re-arranging photos in the Photostream that exists for Apps ~ whereby if a photo is touched and held or a few seconds they all wobble and crosses appear. Tapping the cross will delete the photo from iCloud / Photostream on all devices. Also photos can be rearranged by dragging and dropping.
It is so annoying to have no control over the Photostream direct from a device.
Absolutely! Since when do you want to keep every picture? I guess back when all you had was at most 36 shots on a roll of film... but when you can take dozens of pictures, you ALWAYS want to edit out the junk or duplicate shots. Not with PhotoStream... How terrible. I have abandoned the feature as a result.
Seems to me apple are trying to force you to buy more storage.
Seems silly that you can delete your own photos one by one
I would like to see apples review on this....

Wrong. Photostream storage is free, and does not form part of your iCloud allowance.
This is the correct way of doing it. It definitely worked for me. Thank you donald.
That being the same method I suggested in the 2nd post here!
When I use Safari to go to iCloud, I get sent to www.icloud.com/iphone_welcome. From m there, I can't do anything useful. In particular, my name is not in the upper right corner, I cannot get to advanced, and I cannot delete my photostream photos. How should I proceed?
You cannot go to icloud.com on your iPhone, only from your Mac or PC.
Thanks. I tried going to iCloud.com from my mac at work, but couldn't (because it's running OSX 10.5.x?). However, I've been able to login from my iMac at home.
I have this same problem. Following the advice given here, I went into iCloud from my PC and deleted the shots in Photostream. Then I turned it off on my iPhone 4s and on my iPad. Interesting results. The photos are gone from iCloud, gone from the iPhone, but stubbornly remain on the iPad! I have restarted/reset the iPad--no difference. They are still there.
Really strange.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much - your clear instructions worked for me
The correct and only way to delete photos from photostream on your I phone is to do the following. I know it's a long process! No use complaining and wining. JUST DO IT!
From any computer use your internet browser and go to www.icloud.com.
Sign in to your icloud account with your Apple ID and Password.
Click your name on the top-right-hand corner of the window.
Click Advanced.
Click reset Photostream.
New window - click reset.
Enter password.
Click OK.
When all of the above is done go to your Iphone and go to settings.
Navigate to Icloud and turn off photostream.
Go back and turn on photostream again.
Go to your photo albums and there will be no more photos in your photostream album.
OMG, is that some kind of joke? This has been mentioned about 6 times at least in this thread alone and hundreds of times elsewhere here!
Did you actually read the thread, or just randomly post?
OMG. do you have a life?
NO! I didn't randomly post. If you had read the thread I had thanked Donald quite a while ago for his helping reply. I know that for some people is is difficult to follow instructions if there are not put in a rather simplistic way. What is simple to a technical person like you (maybe) or I may be difficult for a technically challenged person or to others in parts of the world who may speak English as a second language. Don't assume.
I gotnotified that other Iphone users are still struggling with this concept, so I tried to clearify it in a rather step by step method. Now go out there and try solving other world crisis.
Don't know what you are talking about, your 'step by step method' had been outlined step by step several times before, both in this thread and a zillion times elsewhere here.
Crisis? What crisis?
