I upgraded to iOS5 on my iPhone 4, and now it does not work with my Bose SoundDock. Does anyone have any ideas what caused this? I went to best buy and it works on other docking products. I'm hoping it's a bug, but if other people have this issue (or they upgraded and it's working fine) please comment.

Tell me more about these pins! Because it just started happening after I received a replacement iPhone, it would make sense...different phone, refurbished, pin backward. I had no problem with my other 2 (yes, 2) iPhone 4's on my dock station, always updated to the latest software.

Got a replacement phone, and it works FINE now!!! THE PINS ARE THE PROBLEM, NOT THE SOFTWARE, OR THE BOSE

My iPhone and SoundDock have never been my issue. The issue is the Apple IOS 6.0.
I can not use periperhal speakers and Bose when phone docked in Bose SoundDock. As I have stated previously Apple is aware of the issue but does not seem too concerned about fixing it. I should be able to use a splitter to send sound to my SoundDock and my remote speakers while the device is docked. If I don't dock it it works on both but I can not charge my iPhone. If I dock it the sound only comes out of the Bose regardless of the splitter.
I can use my iTouch with IOS 4.0 and it works just fine so I know it is not the device but the IOS.
I am still surprised that Bose has not applied some pressure to Apple since it certainly is affecting their reputation and they can only skate along for so long on their past reputation before it will catch up to them.
THis was posted a year or so go. After trying everything, I took the case off mt iPhone, and speaker worked. Glad I saw this. Thanks, elledoman.
I just received my Bose today and was running into the same problem. I thought it might be the iOS 5 upgrade on my iPhone but then realized it was just my iPhone case. Having the case on doesn't allow for the connection with the docking station. As soon as I took it off, it worked great. I hope this helps others!
Have you considered using a dock extender?
