iPhone 4 upgraded to iOS5, now Bose SoundDock not working

I upgraded to iOS5 on my iPhone 4, and now it does not work with my Bose SoundDock. Does anyone have any ideas what caused this? I went to best buy and it works on other docking products. I'm hoping it's a bug, but if other people have this issue (or they upgraded and it's working fine) please comment.

thanks!

On april 9th, I wrote (slnsln) about my problems with my Logitec and iPhone. As mentioned I found a workaround, but since the ios 5.1.1, the dockstation only has been a very expensive charger.

I normally use TuneIn, to listen to radio, but now, when I place the phone in the dock, the scroller for the volume in that app simply disappear.

Did I tell you that my old iPod from 2006, playing with no problems in the same dock!.

To all Sounddock/iPhone 4/4S owners: Clean your iPhone dock connectors on the bottom of your phone. Use a clean paintbrush to remove all dust particles then use compressed air and blow remaining particles. Learned this from a Bose salesperson after returning a Sounddock think IT was the problem, not my phone. I sent a second Sounddock to South Carolina for repair thinking IT was the problem, only to learn my phone was the culprit. The amount of dust/dirt the paintbrush removed was incredible -- wish I'd known to clean the dock connector sooner. I expect a nasty note from the Bose repair center along with my Sounddock when it arrives Tuesday thanking me for wasting their time with this...

Was having similar issues on 2 different Bose sound docks. Would hear a bit of a signal/connection disruption sound when I pulled my iPhone 4 off the dock, but there was no charging or music playback when it was connected.

I then took a toothpick and cleaned out the dock connection on the bottom of my phone. Found there was a layer of lint compacted at the bottom that took quite a few minutes worth of cleaning to remove. Put my phone on the dock, immediately back in business. I have an iPhone 4 with ios5 and all the latest software updates as of this post. Definitely would urge other folks to try cleaning out the bottom of their phone and also making sure there isn't an adapter in the Bose dock either that would prevent a proper connection.

Hi!!! Mine has been doing the same thing(not working on dock) Im using a sony system, ipod was running fine but since the update no sound, the ipod charges but no sound when playing music.I got it to work with a pc speaker 3.5mm plug or connector.3.5mm on both ends, pluged it in pc input on my sony system, pushed function botton until under pc instead of ipod and voila!!!! works awsome, the only problem is that the ipod does not charge with this type of connectors but atlease it works on the system.Im sure that apple is aware of this issue and hopefully will fix asap.ISO5.1.1 is not the best and would suggest to stay on older one until fix is out.

Hope this will help someone.

Just upgraded to iOS 6, unfortunately problem still persists. A few months back took my phone to an Apple store, they tried it in a portable Bose Soundock and to my surprise it worked fine. Which leads me to believe that although the original problem was caused by the 1OS 5 upgrade Bose managed to change the docks to solve the problem. They of course denied all knowledge of this until the warranty expired on the older Sounddock!

People, I was Talking the First Day after I updated to ios5 to Apple care about our all issue! They told me that time, that they just removed the Sound Standard we Need out of iOS and that they wouldn't had heared about my Problem so far! We just have to Start a Petition in the web that they will fix our all Problem! There is no other way! Or they probably won't react at all!
