Can't access iTunes store - store page freezes

When i try to access the iTunes store it freezes half way through and looks like this

User uploaded file

I had the same problem last time iTunes updated and was able to get someone to fix it although they can't now remember what they did.

Things i've tried so far

deleting old preference files - all of them

uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes several times

full virus scan

checking proxy settings are correct

ran iTunes diagnotistics all came back as fine

rebuilt network information

deleted host files

deleted plug ins

I'm getting pretty desperate now, just can't work it out and all the online support now seems to be stuff i've done which didn't work.

Hope you can help - Anthony

Finally fixed it, found the answer on a nother thread

try this:

Start --> Programs --> Accessories (Right Click on Command Prompt) --> Run as Administrator

then type in:

netsh winsock reset

After this restart - it worked for me perfectly

got it from another thread:

Apple just had the nerve to send me a survey on my experience with their support on this issue. There was no support at all!! I killed them on the survey. I've always respected Apple until now. I guess I never needed support from them before. Anyway, this problem has caused me to look into other online music services out there. Amazon and Rhapsody are not bad. I can get apps using my iPhone so no problem there. Mostly all I do is buy music. If Apple won't fix this, I'll use other sources.

If I had the time, I'd try a support call. I'm confused that Apple isn't all over this. I want to buy music and it's as though they have no interest that many of their software users are unable to buy from them. Anyone on the list have any updates? Alreet, did you ever go into the Apple store? I'll keep digging and will be sure to share with you if I find a fix. Probably put a sniffer on it next to see waht is being called and subsequently blocked.

Glad it worked for you, Alreet, but, like others, it didn't work for me. In fact, trying that caused my computer to be unable to access the Internet for any purpose. (I'll admit I'm not a computer expert, but I've used computers for years and I followed the directions exactly.) My IT person was able to restore my Internet access (thanks!), but I still can't access the iTunes store. I've tried many things, as recommended by Apple, and nothing works. As someone else said, I had no problems until I "upgraded" to 10.5. I shouldn't have to rebuild my system to access iTunes....it should just work! I am appalled that Apple hasn't been more helpful...or should I say helpful at all?! This problem pops up all over the Internet, with a quick Google search, so it doesn't seem to be isolated to just a few of us. I'm disgusted.

This is so frustrating, I have tried the Winsock fix, the clean uninstall using Apples instructions but can't find the files that need deleting or installing because they don't exist.

Tried installing earlier versions, does not work as the new version corrupts the library, to which I have partially lost.

When you back up it keeps telling you to delete your old back up and resave, erm.........doesnot work and now no back up!

I have spent, hours and days on this!

I was talking with a friend from the Netherlands yesterday, guess what same problem he was saying that apple across there were indicating it's a problem with the new icloud software.

Come on Apple sort this mess out, your supposed to listen to the VOC of your customers!
