Siri won't call anyone. Keeps saying sorry I can't call...

I live in Kuwait but don't think this should matter but whoever I tell Siri to call it won't. It will just say "Calling X" and then say "Sorry I can't call X" (something like that). I've tried having her call a whole bunch of people but she keeps apologizing that she can't call them. Anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

tried turning off/on iPhone 6s+,= no fix... tried turning Siri off, then back on=no fix... what did work , with the help of Apple Tech was going into: settings/ General/ scroll to bottom to the reset and reset the phone( I believe you had to enter your Apple ID) / phone worked fine after that reset. You will lose things like finger print ID, any enlarged lettering, basically anything you customized in your phone, but you can just customize everything you previously had... fixed my ''Siri problem''... '' Sorry I can't call X"

I live in Belize and have the same problem. Siri keeps apologizing and wont call anyone in my contact list nor any number i tell it to. It just keeps saying "sorry John i cant call xxx-xxxx. Most of my contacts have only a 7 digit number since we dont need to call the country code but even when i create a contact with the country code included (501) xxx-xxxx it still wont call. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is becoming increasingly frustrating. Siri finally started working last night again, but now it is down again. I realize it is a beta but the lack of communication from Apple is not helping. I just tried all the suggested resets and procedures without avail. I am going to try the nuke option and backup and restore. I don't really want to do this, but because of the lack of communication from Apple I can't tell if it is something with my connection or their servers. So I will spend the time resetting and restoring and see if that works. I don't mind if their system is down since it is a beta, just I wish they would let me know so I could stop trying to follow these reset procedures.

Did you ever get your cellular service provider to program your phone?

I live in the U.S. and have Verizon. I couldn't dial 10 digit numbers. If I put a "1" in front of the number, I could dial it but not 10 digit numbers.

Another thing is that my phone book didn't separate out the digits. The number would be xxxxxxxxxx and not (xxx) xxx-xxxx. If I added a +1 in front, it would be +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx.

I found out I had to call "*228" and have it program my phone. Once that was done, the numbers no longer showed up in my phone book as xxxxxxxxxx but (xxx) xxx-xxxx and Siri could dial them.

Apple has an obligation even with beta software to be clear what the limits of the service are and when it fails to be clear about the cause. This is especailly when this is one of the major value features to the 4s. It is now a multi-day failure as it is Friday and still Siri is down for me and no way for me to see if and when the service will be back. It is not critical but it is useful and I would consider fairly important for hands free operation of the phone.

A little openness on the part of apple in this case would go a long way to solving my disappointment about this outage.

No they don't. That's only in your mind and overblown self-entitlement. No such obligation exists in the end-user agreement.

You are not paying for Siri service as you are for cell or internet. You were advised that Siri is beta, which BY DEFINITION, is for TESTING ONLY, and subject to unannounced changes and outages.

And, it's not needed for hands free operation of the phone since Voice Control replaces it if you disable Siri. (You would know that if you read my last post.)

Couldn't disagree more with modular744 statement about keeping me updated, or your one-sided statement that it is not mission critical. Perhaps not to you, but perhaps you have no idea what other people use it for. This is basic customer service and communications with your customers. A press release saying they are still having problems, with occasional updates, can be released relatively easily and painlessly.

For those who care, the restore of the iPhone 4s did not fix the issue, but it slightly improved it (could be a coincidence) in that it connects but it can't seem to even do basic tasks. I ask it to create a reminder and it fails or takes forever, although it makes it further in the process than it did before.
